Ceramics from 1000 years ago until the present day tell the story of Nicaragua's ancient and current history. There are pots containing burial offerings, There are dozens of burial vessels of differing sizes and ages, some over 1000 years old and featuring what look like sperm and ova as part of the external carving. (Indigenous peoples believe in the birth, death and rebirth of Spirit in various human forms.) Loved their womanly figurines celebrating fertility and birth as sacred. Modern ceramic designs at the entrance show the continuity of the pottery-making tradition locally.
