“Lovely New Find”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Bistro Estrada has lovely decor and a very well manicured courtyard garden where it's great to sit outside. The indoor space has a/c - but it didn't seem to be doing much the second time we visited. Their happy hour runs from 5:30-8 pm, and the 2 for 1 $3.50 Mojitos are not to be missed! We opted for the 3 course $10 daily special and the lamb ragout was done very well with a great selection of vegetables. The other courses are salad and dessert, and the special is good for those with an average appetite. For those used to 'supersized' portions, add an appetizer - the shrimp I had were grilled to perfection and the sauce was delicious. Their coffee flan is fantastic.

“Wondeful food and service in a lovely setting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2013

With its lovely romantic garden, and outstanding food, this bistro is a jewel off the tourist strip of Granada. The service is attentive and the atmosphere is perfect for lingering an evening away.
I would like to address the issue of price. If you order al a carte a full meal, the price can add up. However each day there is a three course meal that is $10 US. Happy hour is 2 for 1 drinks--these are great values. Full price is still a value for the excellent quality of the food. I look forward to returning!

“overpriced but good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

By far this was the priciest restaurant we dined at and the least interesting. The food was good and fresh with a nice selection but priced similar to Houston entrees in the $25+ range. The best entree was the standard NIcaraguan plate with beef, pork and chicken b/c it is so traditional and interesting. Calamari was mediocre but the pork skewers and chicken kabobs were very good. Super nice staff. Wine list is decent but also pricey.

Thank you for your review! We are glad to hear that you appreciate our quality, fresh food, nice staff and good wine list.
Our prices reflect quality and ambiance, unlike any other in the region. In a country like Nicaragua quality ingredients are not cheap, but we have chosen to create a place where quality is not compromised which is reflected in our prices. This is something we take pride in and something our regular customers appreciate.
Our menu is posted for the public outside our door, which gives people the chance to see firsthand our pricing and decide whether or not they are able and willing to pay.
Thanks again for your comments.

“Excellent food and air conditioned”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013

One of the few places where you can enjoy great food in an air conditioned room. We usually didn't need air condition, the fans were plenty, but this evening it was extremely hot and humid and we were hungry and needed to escape the heat. We found our relief for hunger and heat at the Bistro.

“Happy Nights in Granada!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2013

Back again and what a delight! At first, I thought it might have been an accidental good time back in August 2012. But after returning for a second time, it was like deja vu all over again - except better. Great food, awesome price (especially compared to all the other crap in Granada) and the best staff in the city. Looking forward to coming back and trying something new. if in doubt, order the shrimp or "plate of the day", you won't go wrong. And if you want to experiecne delightful service, ask for Kathryn...the food and her friendly smile and delivery are probably the 2 reason why I am coming back. Double Cheers! Bernie Lacayo
