“Scandinavian Boutique Hotel With Great Nica Hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

We stayed (2 parents one 11 yo girl) for 2 nights in August post-flight from US. The architecture of the hotel on the outside was a traditional Nica Granada residence and inside was a very cool yet comfortable Scandinavian contemporary design (reportedly designed by a Danish architect). Staff were graceful, professional and accommodating, Very well run by both the staff from Nica and Denmark. Bfast was great...handmade plates/bowls from san juan del oriente (where we went later to buy some), fruit, artisan bread, eggs and juice MTO.

This a a strikingly beautifully designed small hotel. The modern decor blends with the traditional so well, the garden court yard and pool are so lovely and we didn't want to leave. No need to be in your room given how lovely the courtyard is. Rooms are nice (there are only 5) with king beds, but the suite is fantastic, huge, and has a spectacular view of the volcano. We stayed three nights in a room, and returned to Granda before flying home just to stay at the hotel again. Wish we had stayed in the suite the entire time! I enjoyed the location which is down a residential street - great to see a little real life in Granada, and the other hotels off the main drag and square looked congested and noisy to me compared to Los Patios. I had two excellent 90 minute massages in the courtyard, it was perfect. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty, I am still dreaming about the Nica coffee, best in the world. Staff is sweet and when we left they all came to see us off, which was a very heartwarming gesture. My only suggestion would be for staff to get more familiar with tours, as they didn't know much and we ended up paying a lot for a trip to the volcano at a terrible time of day to see anything. If you go to Mombacho this time of year (July) its covered in clouds most of the time, especially in the morning. Better chance to see views in afternoon. Avoid the tour, just get a cab to the park and you will be able to hire a guide there. Thanks Los Patios, Granada is a cute colonial city but if it weren't for Los Patios I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much.

Room Tip: The Suite!

I stayed a week at this very nice hotel. The personnel are extremely nice and they offer a very good service. The hotel is nice and clean and with a very good atmosphere. The rooms are large and contains all you need. The mixture of Scandinavian and local decoration/furniture makes it unique. If I get a chance to travel to Nicaragua again it is for sure a hotel I will stay in again.

Los Patios is indeed a gorgeous oasis of tranquility located an easy walking distance to the main square. The patios and green spaces within are beautiful as a result of great design in architecture and landscape. Our rooms were well appointed and comfortable. Thanks to the wonderful staff we were looked after very well. The food was delicious and the coffee was the best I've had. Our transport was arranged from Managua airport and return with thanks to Los Patios for taking total care of us.

Room Tip: Los Patios is small and any of the rooms are good.

My husband and I stayed here with our 11 month old daughter recently and couldn't have been happier. The staff was above and beyond friendly and helpful. They made special meals for our daughter - including a baby smoothie! The balcony suite was clean, comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view of Mombacho. Breakfast was generous with coffee, a cheese plate, fruit, crepes, fresh squeezed juice, an omelette & yogurt for our daughter. The space is stylish and comfortable and we felt right at home. Looking forward to our next visit!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in June of 2012. It was really a great way to start off our Nicaragua vacation. Los Patios is like an oasis in Granada. The interior is incredibly decorated - it should be featured in some sort of design magazine. It is a great place to enjoy a lazy day reading the hammocks or swimming in the pool.

The staff was also fantastic! They bent over backwards and took the extra time to make our stay that much better. We really couldn't have asked for anything better!

Breakfast was delicious as well. My only complaint was that I couldn't finish it all because there was so much of it!

My husband and I are typically pretty modest travellers, so I was hesitant to book the room because this would be above what we normally spend on a room. But it really was worth it - we even extended our stay there from 2 nights to 4.

There is also a really great restaurant right up the street from the hotel - El garaje - they close early, but it is a great spot for lunch.

We would highly recommend Los Patios to anyone traveling to Granada!

We fell in love with Nica in Dec last year and have stayed at Los Patios four times between Dec 2011 and June 2012 and will continue to visit in the future.
It's without doubt the most beautifully-designed, calm and homely hotel in Granada - the pricing is very reasonable for what is on offer here versus other 'luxury' hotels we've stayed in Nica (ie Morgan's Rock, Jicaro Lodge, Punta Teonoste, Rancho Santana, Redwood Beach...).
Perhaps the location isn't the most central in the city, but it is a real escape from the heat and hectic-ness, with only a short walk to the main square & good restaurants - which is exactly what we're looking for.
The staff are all fantastic - Mads, Armando and Xiomara are so friendly and helpful; breakfast is the best we've had in Nica.
Heavenly spa treatments (we have massage and reflexology) are on offer in the cool, relaxing internal courtyard, amongst swaying palm trees and the sound of trickling fountains.
Honestly can't rate this hotel highly enough. We'd move in if we could!

Room Tip: Rooms 1 or 2 are great, we haven't stayed in the suite on the first floor (which has amazing vie...
