“Think Piranha on Steroids”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2014

Yep, Cocibolca Guapote is one ugly lake bass with an impressive set of teeth! And it is incredibly delicious when lightly fried and then smothered with a flavorful tomato sauce at Las Colinas. The flesh is very sweet and even the skin of the fish was quite tasty. The fish is served de-boned which was a nice surprise. The large portion was more than enough for two of us to share.

Las Colinas is a thatched roofed, dirt floored, cavernous space about the size of a basketball court. The hard packed floor was immaculately swept and large fans kept the place cool. We ate there one weeknight and sadly, only two other tables were occupied. There’s probably an exciting cornucopia of activity to watch, if you head there on the weekend.
`
Taxi fare is only 10 Cordobas during the day and 20 Cordobas at night per person (50 cents and $1.00, respectively), so any destination in Granada is affordable. The restaurant will arrange a cab for you at the end of the evening.

Best travels,

Craig & Donna

“The "Handsome" Fish Didn't Disappoint”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

Like many others on here, we too enjoyed the local fish dish of Granada at this restaurant. And as the pictures show, it is definitely one of the ugliest dishes I've ever seen. My boyfriend ordered the fish and was able to eat it on his own, but it was definitely a lot of food. I had the 1/2 roast chicken and it was amazing-well seasoned and juicy. Our only recommendation is if you go at night, save yourself a walk and take a taxi. It's a bit difficult to find on foot, as we learned. It's a not to miss experience in Granada!

“One of our favorites!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 2, 2014

We really enjoyed Las Colinas, and would recommend it to other travelers. Take a taxi to get there, as it's not walking-distance from most places...but it's fairly cheap fare. It's a pretty simple restaurant, but comfortable. The service was friendly and quick-- whether it was for the two of us, or for the table of 12 nearby.
The food was very good and fresh, particularly the fish and avocado salad (although my wife's chicken was quite good too). Lots of side dishes came with the meal, so we had a table full of food. All of that, with a couple rounds of cold beer-- bill was only ~$30. Great experience, we hope to go back!

“Favorite meal in Granada”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2014

We absolutely loved this restaurant. We took a taxi there which was very inexpensive. We went for lunch and ordered the small Guapote fish - it was delicious. We loved the atmosphere too - it was crowded with families enjoying a Sunday lunch. The service was a little slow, but it was fine because we were enjoying the restaurant quite a bit.

“Consider sharing a grande Guapote for 2”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014

We ordered two regular Guapote and it was just too much food - I wish we had ordered just one Grande fish to share. The restaurant is an easy taxi ride from the center of the city - and at the end of your meal they will call you a taxi to take you back to your hotel. The 'dirt' floors were clean. Although the prices seemed rather high.
