What a weird hotel! We got a super fancy room, very spacious and with dark colonial wood, for only about US$25 per night. So the room itself was very fancy, bit of a pity there was no daylight... but the bathroom was very small, and the toilet didn't flush properly. I had to ask for a bucket. The shower only gave cold water which was in contrast with the fanciness of the room.
The ceiling was very high but the wall was not closed at the top, the pointy roof left a hole of about a full meter. So you could litterally hear your neighbours walk around their room, let alone talk. Again, very strange when you look at how posh the place looked.
The coartyard is very pretty with tropical plants. But they also have dorm rooms and a kitchen, and were building more dorms, so what kind of crowd are they trying to attract? Dorms tend to attract younger and rowdier people. It doesn't quite go with the poshness of the place.
There was lots of noise from working men.
All in all I find it hard to rate this place... but I hope this review helps other people decide! I guess for backpackers who don't mind a dorm bed, this could be a posh experience in an excellent location.
