“An oasis, calm and clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2012

A lovely little place that's more like a hotel than a backpacker place. It's really clean, and has a nice little swimmingpool. There's a lot of art and paintings around. Staff is nice and welcomming and would do anything for you. I would even recomend my parent's to stay here.
They have a lot of diffenrent rooms, all from small one bed rom, to huge dorm, and aircondition rooms with ensuite. Lovely garden and fountain. If you have a airconroom you pay more, but the you get breakfast too! If you stay in dorm you don't. Kitchen is big and have all that you need!
Doña Rosa is the heart of the place, she runs around, cleans, do you laundry and what not. She deserves a medal! The rest of the staff is very nice too, and service is top notch! I stored my luggage there for a couple of weeks while I was running around elsewhere in Nicaragua. They also helped me a lot regarding a package commeing in to Nicaragua from the us! Kudos!

However when I was there it was pretty quiet, and I did't meet a lot of people. Its definently not at partyplace!

Our best stay in Nicaragua. We got a double bed room with fan for $34.50 a night. Not bad when you splitting it for two. They serve their homemade coffee anytime of the day from cappuchinos to espressos with no extra charge. It is also 2 blocks from central park and very close to the polle market if you plan on taking the bus to mombacho volcano for 7 cords. The place was exceptionally clean. The staff was very pleasant. We felt safe for two women. They maintain the place very well. Most comfy beds I have had. The pool was beautiful and perfect temperature. Very spacious I will returning this place next time!!!!

Our rooms were small but the beds were comfortable. We had air conditioning that worked well and we had private baths. The pool was just outside the door and was well kept and clean. Rosa, one of the staff members was such a joy to meet. Very sweet and willing to help in any way possible. We felt safe and secure.
The price was somewhat high for Nicaragua but all in all a wonderful place.

Our room was small but adequate, private bathroom and air conditioning. The pool was right outside our door; breakfast included in the price....for under $100.00 3 nights I thought it was exceptional.

Room Tip: Price does not always mean good quality. But this place was great and the staff were very accomodat...

I stayed here for 1 night which was my last night in Granada. Its really close to the bus station, for buses to Rivas, and the central market. It has a nice pool, a well equipped kitchen. I'm not usually a fan of dorms but really enjoyed the stay as the dorms and bathrooms are spotless. The only comment is that its a little pricey for Granada, where $15 can get you a private room with private bathroom in a local guesthouse, but given the amenity and cleanliness, its well worth the cost!

Backpackers Inn is a hotel in its infancy. It hasn't figured out the ultimate mission ... a budget backpackers hangout or elegant boutique hotel. The latter is the likely outcome. For the budget minded this is the real deal. There is nothing bad to say about Backpackers. It is a gorgeous space. The traditional courtyards and upscale conveniences are such a treat ... especially at the price. A hot breakfast was included with our room. It is generous and if you stay a few days you will find that they change the breakfast selection daily. The staff is accommodating to any need you might have. Laundry service is provided by staff. A kitchen and coffee is available all day and there is enough english spoken at the front desk to assist those of us who can't manage spanish as well as we should. The small pool provides a nice afternoon break from your street adventures. A favorite feature for us was the coffee bar with its expresso and cappuccino made to order.
The two rooms to the right of the pool take full sun for a good portion of the day. They won't cool down well without paying for AC. The rooms between the two courtyards cool down nicely with ceiling fans and 20+ foot ceilings. The other rooms around the main courtyard are fine without AC. Some of these are smaller and a real bargain.

Room Tip: Rooms to the right of pool take full sun during mid day... rent with AC

We stayed here for only two days. The Backpckers Inn is really awesome. It is situated right in the centre, near the central park. The house looks rather like a design hostel or a boutique hostel than a backpackers' place. Although the prices are a bit more expensive, this hostel is worth it. You will be surprised when you enter the perfectly maintained atrium of this old restored house. It has very nice furniture, paintings, a romantic garden, many places to sit and relax, TV, a swimming pool in the second atrium, a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge for everyone, unbelievably vast rooms and dorms, and the dorm beds are no bunk beds but big single beds with new mattresses. If you can afford it, go there!
