We reserved the suite with another couple. When we arrived we found that the suite is two rooms with a door connecting them. That was fine with us, but after a long couple of days traveling we wanted showers. The showers in both rooms had no water pressure and no hot water. Literally, the water was dripping out of the shower head so we were not able to shower. It was afternoon so we told the staff in hopes that it could be fixed. They were very nice and said they would send someone right away. We figured it would be handled and lounged at the pool. When we went back in the evening to shower and get ready for dinner it had not been fixed. So we went without a shower and told the staff on our way out. Again we were told they would contact someone and fix it while we were out. When we returned for the night we were told that the maintenance guy was gone for the night and they would be on it first thing in the morning. Eventually the showers were fixed and worked well, but we went a good 24 hours with no access to a shower. The sink had great water pressure and hot water, but was too small to wash my hair. We were never offered another room or shower to use. When I checked out and asked for a manager and a discount I was told the manager was not in. The staff tried to call the manager, but was not able to reach him and was not authorized to give discounts. I usually do not complain about things like this, especially in a place like Granada, but we were paying over $200 per night for the suite. I thought the least they could do is discount the night we had no showers. I returned later that day, as instructed by the staff, to speak with the manager, David. He was not friendly and said there was nothing he could do because we had already checked out. He also claimed he had no idea about our problems. Since one of the friendly staff members that we had been working with was there, she explained to David that yes, we were telling the truth. We had paid in cash, so a refund for the discount would have been quite easy, but he kept insisting he could do nothing to help us. Eventually he changed his story and said he could only give us $10. I'm sure if we would have stayed longer he would have given us more, but we were tired of his treatment and decided to just leave.
All of that said, the staff members that we dealt with on a daily basis were fantastic, friendly, and very helpful. David, the manager, was the only person who was unkind and unfair, but he has certainly made us not want to return. The hotel itself was nice with a convenient spa and nice pool area. You may have a nice time at this hotel, but be warned, if anything does go wrong, you may be dealing with a very unhelpful manager.
