“Wonderful smoothies and a lovely place to relax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2014

This is about my favorite place to just sit and relax for a while and drink a really great smoothie. The food is also pretty good too.

There is a great collection of books to take a read as well, and Garden Cafe also organizes cool events and live music.

Definitely a really good place to call in at whilst in the city.

“Classic Travelers Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2014

Very popular with other travelers for sandwiches, salads and healthy lunch fare. The locally made draft beer was a welcome change from the usual Tona and Victoria beers (though we liked those too). They also have a coffee counter, book store and crafts store. The tables are around a pretty plant-filled courtyard. Free wifi.

“We stayed in town another day so we could have another meal here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2014

I should preface this by saying we'd been at sea or in a marina for several months already, so were really craving fresh salads and some of the breakfast foods we enjoyed back home. Even so, I'd eat at the Garden Cafe at least weekly if it was in my home town! The setting is so pretty and peaceful - the garden courtyard of a restored historic home. The food was very good, beautifully presented, and healthy. There was a good variety of local, harder to find dishes that were available and they were described carefully on the menu. I think we ate here or bought snacks about 3 times in 3 days. The cafe also has a small gift shop which seemed supportive of local causes and the environment. Enjoy it! (We were actually there in October of 2012, but that date isn't on the list.)

“Okay Breakfast”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2014

Have had breakfast here a few times. Food is hit and miss, mostly prepared well and tasty but have had some below average experiences. For Nicaragua standards their menu is also overpriced.
