“Family Stay Summer 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2012

A Colonial era property, centrally located a few blocks from the main plaza in this sleepy city, lovingly restored and managed. The staff operates like a family, eating lunch together with the "managers" each day right out in the breakfast area. Breakfast for the guests is a leisurely affair with plenty of food and the dinner ($10) is the best value in town and is excellent home-cooked style food. The pool is meticulously maintained every day and is so refreshing. The public spaces are just fantastic for hanging out and meeting other guests. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable- nothing fancy but welcoming with thoughtful touches- a Delpht tile in each shower, LED lighting, Air conditioning. The staff will help you coordinate any sort of activity and will even help you if you decide to use "guides" or drivers outside their usual referral network. Special thanks to Jost and Kirtje (I am sure I have butchered the spelling of their names and the website is down!) the Dutch hosts/managers- they are wonderful people who make time to hear about your life. Nohemy, at the front desk is a treasure! - though in fairness, all the employees are really like Nohemy, but she speaks the best English! If you want to practice your Spanish the staff will lovingly tolerate all your mistakes and gently correct you. We have travelled widely and Hotel Con Corazon stands out as one of 2 places of the hundreds I have stayed in that I will daydream about when I am at work! And don't miss the free Salsa lessons and great Margaritas (not free but worth every Cordoba). We spent 8 nights here. You will be very sorry if you stay fewer nights and you will be sorry to leave no matter how long you stay. How wonderful that on top of everything the profits support local charities to benefit kids, especially education.

Room Tip: I think all the rooms are good.

I stayed at this hotel with my family - and found that it lived up to it's reviews and our expectations. The service is very professional and gracious, the rooms are nice, clean, and unique (although not posh), and the food was great.

The swing and oversized chess set in the courtyard were a big hit with our 10 year old, and very fun. The breakfast food was very good - our only compliant was the annoying flies, but it was the rainy season.

We'd stay again in a second, nice luxury. AND it's providing support for social programs - how could it get any better?

Having stayed here twice, my only complaint in the weak wifi. Come on guys, can you spend just a little and get the signal improved? Other than that, the place is perfect. We plan on coming back a third time, so please get on this. The complimentary breakfast is really good.

The place is beautiful and comfortable. The breakfast is unbelievable--definitely not your usual "included" version. And the staff is great--especially Nohamy, who had endless patience with us and helped us in every way she could.

We stayed in 3 different hotels during our stay in Granada and this was by far the favorite! There's something very special about this hotel. It has a lot of character and aesthetic appeal, the pool is great (so much cleaner and nicer and quieter than the big hotels where anyone can pay by day). Breakfasts were delicious and filling even for vegans. They helped us book all of our tours which made our planning effortless. And the staff treats you so incredibly well--always remembers your name, greats you with a smile, helps out with everything, etc. If that's not reason enough, I love that all of their profits go to helping local kids and education. Basically, you get the good feeling of supporting a nonprofit organization while also getting a nicer experience than many of more expensive hotels in town could provide.

This place is the best.....the staff are so nice and accomodating...had them pick us up in Rivas (still dont know HOW they found us there, with no address or anything)....booked trip to Mombacho Volcano with tour guide and then zip lining...our flight was very late in the pm so they let us use the pool to cool off and a room to change in before they took us to airport. I will ALWAYS stay here when visiting Nicaragua.

Really nice hotel in a great location! The hotel itself is beautiful set out, with a small pool, lots of chairs and tables, hammocks etc. and offers free wifi in the area by the bar. Our room was nice, but a bit dark. The air condition was efficient and we got hot water showers. The included breakfast was plentiful and really good. The restaurant also serves 3 course dinners (must be ordered by 4pm), the food was nice and the price was great, only USD 10. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the receptionists speak good english.
