I have stayed at the Oasis many times over the last 10 years. I always take a private room and enjoy meeting people in their common areas. The staff are learning more English which improves their ability to help. I always found it a treasure.
This last visit, early February 2013, we were severely attacked by bed bugs. My wife reacts horribly and she was covered in bites, I showed no signs but we found many bed bugs in the room when the lights were turned on at night. This a problem with many hotels in Granada, just Google bed bugs in Granada and see the results. They do fumigate often and were very helpful once we made the issue known.
For a quick check of your room turn on the lights about a hour after going to bed. Check the bed sheets and walls of the room. They vary in size from a pin head to a blood saturated 5 mm across hard beetle. They are hard to squash. Check your sheets for small black spots which indicate the hotel has a problem. The spots are small blood spots left after washing the sheets. Bed bugs currently do not carry disease as far as I could tell in the research.
The problem with bed bugs is, even if you don't react, you carry them with you to the next location or even to your home in your bags, After leaving a beg bug infested location they can be killed by putting all your items in a cloths dryer for 20 minutes on high heat. 50 degrees Celsius kills them.
Sorry about the review for the Oasis. I am sure they will get the situation under control.
Avoid the rooms above the pool.

Oasis TAKES ANY COMPLAINT SERIOUSLY. We have fumigated ALL ROOMS, and as this guest stated "taken control" of the situation. Bedbugs are a nuisance not only in hotels/hostels in Granada, but also New York, Australia...the world. There is NO OTHER hostel in Central America more committed than us to making the necessary inspection and fumigation and erradicating them completely. All hostel/hotel owners in the same dilemma, whether they admitted or not.
