Melissa, Luis and Fatima and the rest of the staff were fantastic. Melissa went out of her way to make sure we had the best experience possible (and is a native English speaker, which made our poor Spanish skills tolerable). She organized drivers and guides for day trips for us which added to our Nicaraguan holiday. Our room was comfortable, fresh fruit and coffee/tea for breakfast by the pool which is a relaxing courtyard with plenty of shade. Hotel is a short, 5 minute walk to the town square. Very highly recommended for short or long term stays. A gem!

We rented a 2 bed/bath during November 2012. I found our place on vrbo.com. It was a great price, and had the perfect amount of space for our family. Their customer service is fantastic - the owner, Jay, answerd all of my questions before arrival extremely quickly, and the staff on site was equally helpful. Our unit was beautifully furnished and extremely clean. It can be a bit noisy in the morning (you are in a residential area, so not their fault if neighbor's dog is barking, child crying, etc), but I sort of expect noise unless I am staying in a conventional hotel, so this was not an issue for us.

It is a bit of a walk from the main restaurant area, but really not that far at all, and if you are walking home after dark, a taxi is only a few bucks. My only very minor complaint (which would not in any way deter me from staying there again) is that there seems to be some confusion as to what should be thrown away in the guest rooms (my razor and soap, and my father's cap to his razor were thrown away by the cleaning staff). There seemed to be suprise I would leave them out in the shower as they might be mistaken as trash (they did offer to replace it but I just went and found a replacement myself as I wasn't looking to experience what a cheap razor might feel like and did not know what they would produce ....). Anyway, if that is the biggest problem one has on vacation, life is not too bad!

My husband and I are staying at the condos for an extended time with our two year old twin girls. We have greatly enjoyed our stay so far. The staff are helpful and accommodating, as well as patient with our poor Spanish-speaking skills. The staff have bent over backwards to plan trips, answer questions, run errands and help with our girls. We would recommend these condos to families, couples or anyone looking for a warm-hearted, welcoming environment during their stay in Granada.

My husband and I spent the entire month of February 2012 in Granada, staying at Condo Hotel Xalteva and had a great time. I would highly recommend this hotel as the best place to stay in Granada, especially for longer term rentals. We had never been to Nicaragua before but were looking for a warm winter getaway (we live in New England) where we could also study Spanish. We were glad we chose Granada and decided to stay at Hotel Xalteva....it was the perfect location for our visit. We didn't need a car and could walk everywhere around town.....the Parque Central was only 6-7 blocks away. If we got tired of walking, we could always take a cab for only 40 cents each anywhere in town. For sightseeing in outlying areas, we hired a driver at very reasonable rates.

Hotel Xalteva is a small 8-unit complex built recently and owned by a retired innkeeper from Vermont. He and his wife are charming and gracious hosts, and the whole staff is excellent....very friendly and helpful. Our 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit was modern, clean, comfortable and well-equipped and worked well when we had friends visit for a week. It had plenty of space, air conditioning, WiFi and all the amenities we wanted. In addition there was a lovely pool just outside our door and breakfast was served every morning by the pool. We liked being in a place where we could meet other travelers and also have concierge-type services....very helpful when you don't know the country or the language.
