The rooms are large, the beds very comfortable and the air conditioning efficient and not too noisy. Large bathrooms with ample hot water but very poorly lit. Other reviewers have likened the place to a dormitory which is fair. Noise in the corridor early morning didn't bother us as we're early risers and the place was less than half full anyhow; it would be an issue however for people who sleep in.
First impressions weren't good. We had to take our bloody shoes off before we could enter a hut to check in: the pool area is drab with dilapidated furniture and the tide was out meaning a 50 metre wade to get to waste high tepid water liberally strewn with small stones etc. The pool is a good size and well maintained but like many others in Thailand it is a standard depth of about 1.3 metres in full sun so that by mid March it was always tepid.
Breakfast was passable if you prefer fried eggs as most days there's no choice. Other meals were overpriced and uninspiring. Beer prices not too bad but other drinks were exhorbitant.
But the biggest disappointment was Khlong Prao. It's a dump. Three or four third rate eating places with apalling service and a couple of minimarts about a 500 metre walk from the resort. If you don't have your own wheels go elsewhere. In fact go elsewhere anyhow.
