“The Bungalows at the top are good value for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

I have spent 3 nights in the bungalows at the top (F6) and I must say that it was a great experience. The rooms are big, clean and Internet is free and working (I am using it right now). It is far enough from the road and from the beach to not listen the noise of the crazy parties that are using loud music every night at Lonely beach. Every morning they clean and make the bed, add more water in the fridge (free). The bed is large and comfortable, it is quiet, the bathroom is with "American Standard" amenities so it is solid and good quality. There is a free continental breakfast that is good (and because it is included I will not complain here! most resort do not provide you any breakfast for this price). I paid 900 baht in hi-season, the hotel was almost full, the pool is great, the beach is the best in Koh Chang, and it is close to Lonely Beach. There are monkeys all around so careful with your clothes if you keep them outside, they like to play with them!

Room Tip: Try the F series, they have the best Internet.

1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014

Our family stayed here for a week in January.

To start with the positives... The beach is just outside your door when you stay in the beachside rooms. The beach is beautiful, just as you imagine a tropical beach. There is ONE nice receptionist / manager who helped us when we requested missing times for our room. The rooms by Australian standards are budget priced but by Thai standards are a bit more expensive. You pay for the location here.

Ok! Be aware that if you stay here you will need to constantly ask for things that have not been stocked in your room such as towels, soap, shampoo and even asking for the room to be cleaned even after the staff have cleaned it. Even after you ask for something and are assured that it will come to your room, keep trying it may take 3 or 4 tries to remind them. We resorted to tipping the cleaning staff 20 baht in the hope that they might actually clean the room and make the bathroom smells of away. It didn't work! The resort is in disrepair whoever owns it has not put money into it's maintenance but is relying on it's location. If you enjoy eating breakfast go early, say 7 a.m and then you will get a selection of foods. Don't make the mistake of thinking that because breakfast finishes at 10 you can rock up at 9:30 and hope to have some choices. DO NOT eat at their beach restaurant, the service is appalling and the food ordinary. The staff are more interested in looking at their phones rather than doing their jobs. Food from the local town is cheaper and with a wide variety of choices. It takes about 10 minutes to walk. The reception staff are helpful but by no means friendly. One staff member spent her time working with her ear phones attached to her iPod and ignored customers or grunted one word answers to us.

It is sad that a resort in this location cannot offer better standards of cleanliness and service. I hope they actually take on board some the criticisms and try and implement some changes.

Such a lovely beach and a beautiful location.

Room Tip: Look at another resort.

This is a big hotel with different rooms: (bungalow, rooms), with swimming pool. We live in the bungalow on the mountain - big room with conditioner, shower and fridge. Stuff clean our room every day and change towels and other shower stuff. Breakfast was classic - eags, muesli, juice, Thai food, tea/coffee and fruit (not so much). The beach is good, but cafe on the beach is expensive, and we go to another one.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

Our family (parents and sons aged 7,6 and 2) stayed here with another family the same size in December 2013. The location on Lonely Beach is fantastic. The beach itself is clean and beautiful and safe swimming for kids. The restaurant and breakfast area is perfectly adequate, though service can be a little slow. We had inter-connecting rooms which was great with the kids. The rooms are basic and could do with a bit of a makeover, but for a beach holiday were fine for what we needed. The hotel can organise a range of activities but we found a much better deal for a snorkelling trip could be found by going outside to one of the nearby villages. Service at the hotel desk is quite disorganised due largely to only one staff member speaking english, and with most of the guests being foreign this woman was significantly over-worked. All that said, we found Siam Beach very good value for money and a great place to entertain the kids. We would go back again for sure.

We stayed the first two nights in the hill huts which have a very good price/quality compared to the other accommodations on the island. You get full access to all the accomodations like swimming pools & towels etc... however after a very windy and stormy night we decided to switch to the room of 2000 bath, the first room we had was very very clean, unfortunately we had to change to a room with more damage (closets, floor, ...) etc after the electricity broke down :)
Very friendly staff and good hotel for Koh Chang, if the other accomodations on the island would be better price/quality I would probably give a 3 star rating instead of a 4....

We were about to check in to this resort but after having possibly the worst dinner and service we have experienced in Thailand I think we were lucky we didn't! The pool area has sun loungers that I wouldn't use for a dog to sleep on, all torn and falling apart, as are the tiles on the swimming pool, lots of broken and cracked floors and litter in all the hedges.

We stayed for four nights in the garden view room (which is actualy a sea view room) for 2 person. The location is just awesome,
The room was properly made every day. The food in the restaurand is the good Thai standard. Only few staps away there are resorts for party people, but its far enough that you don´t hear the music at all. Reception staff were helpful with organizing activities at KO CHANG and also our trip for snorkling and Elephent traking with pick and drop. and also bike rental at hotel reception made our trip memorable.
The place is HIGHLY recommended if you are looking for quite and romantic beach.

Room Tip: The garden view rooms and highly recommended as they are a bit more private and less expensive :)
