I stayed here for a week on a recent trip to Koh Chang. The rooms facing the lagoon are lovely and each has different amenities. For 800 Baht, I splurged on having a fridge and kettle for a few of the nights. Reservations are necessary if you want the lagoon rooms. The more expensive, air- conditioned rooms don't seem worth the extra cost, though 600-800 is kind of pricey, but Koh Chang is more expensive than other islands ( eg. Lanta, Tao, Phangan). It seemed on par with Koh Samui in pricing from my experience as a person who likes backpacker prices, but not the usual type of accommodation that comes with these prices. I didn't eat at the restaurant, though I did wait for 30 minutes, hoping someone would ask me if I'd like to order something. Perhaps I needed to be a little more assertive.
The reception area is nice and is where you'll get your wifi fix. They also have a kettle with coffee and tea on offer along with purified water. The views are absolutely stunning. Not a party place. Beautifully quiet, except if there is some big party happening elsewhere. The fan usually drowns out the noise, but then I am sensitive this way and go nowhere without earplugs and the hope that my travelling neighbours are mindful (which they usually are).
Nice place. Service is good. Mosquito coils and repellent are essential. Did I mention the views?
