“Off the beaten track”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2014

Lovely place to stay and very quiet. The staff are very helpful. The pool is lovely and well maintained. The beach is good (excellent for kids) but should be raked to get rid of rubbish and the beer bottles from the previous day.
Set on a good private beach next to a number of other bungalow resorts most of which have bars and restaurants for a change of scene. The food at Chivapuri is western with a few Thai dishes which were not great so we ate along the beach most evenings.
They need to buy some more loungers to stop people thinking that they have to reserve a lounger by putting towels down early on, and then not using the lounger.
It is a long way down a very bad road- we hired a car via the hotel (about 1500thb per day) and I would recommend this.
Wi-Fi over much of the grounds. Irritating music from the bar but they were always happy to turn it off when requested.
Rooms were very clean and overall I would recommend this as a good place to stay.

Our family's go to resort. The Chivapuri is always a win win for us and our three kids. Attentive staff, off the party scene, beautiful beach.
Food service not always on track during high season, but the rest makes up for it.
What more could you want!!

Room Tip: Upper floor Beach front family rooms offer a beautiful view of the ocean.

This is a small hotel on a quiet beach at the South of the Island and a very peaceful and beautiful place to stay compared to some of the other beaches on the island. The rooms are comfortable and spotless in large 'bungalows' set in lush gardens right by the beach. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool is a good size and well looked after.A couple of small quibbles - the groundsmen should rake the beach area as well as the gardens as there was rubbish and cigarette butts most mornings and the food is mixed and westernised -Thai.I appreciate that many tourists are not keen on authentic Thai dishes so maybe there could be two menus?

Room Tip: Facing the beach

Yes, not enough hot water to fill huge bathtub and deck chairs for upstairs rooms would be nice but all minor points compared to the wonderful staff that did all the make their guests happy, the gorgeous secluded setting, the beautiful, perfectly clean rooms, the great view, the nice pool ... just enough luxury without being too chichi. We LOVED it and look forward to coming back soon. Thank you!

If you want to do nothing it's the place o but, but if you want any action well look elsewhere. On a possitave side the staff are friendly and obliging. Our room has Luke warm water at the best. Internet wifi is free but a bit intermittent .pool good and so is bay for swimming so long as its high tide. At low tide there are rocks galore.

We are here in early August, and rain seems to be the go for the rest of the week so suggest you choose your season.

I came to this resort as a solo young female traveler and really enjoyed everything that was offered. Loved the fact that the staff went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. The resort is a bit away from the other hipster areas but it's well worth the rest and relaxation. I found many things that kept me entertained avalible to me right at the resort. They had kayaks and even offered to let a staff come with me if I wanted an extra person. Other things were dartboards outside, swings on the beach, a bar, and the infinitie pool.

The rooms.... I still can't get over them. Gorgeous! The pics don't lie. You will definitely appreciate staying here.

We came with our just four year old son, and were amazed by the beauty of the place and the most wonderful staff of the hotel. We had stayed already for a while in Thailand and were stunned by the reality in this hotel of the warm, always understanding and helpful attitude of the staff. The place is just stunning and very preserved from the mass tourism that one can find at other places on the island. Very relaxing atmosphere. Nature is part of the place and the way the rooms have been built, one feels very connected to nature even when in the room. We were at another hotel on the island before, the Chill, it was terrible. And we changed to be at the Chivapuri for three weeks, and it was wonderful. The staff was even so kind as to take care of our little boy when we were packing our luggage when leaving.
We can only highly recommend this hotel!
