“A peaceful Garden of Eden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2014

Dar Beldi is an amazing oasis in what is basically still a simple, honest fishermen village, with lovely friendly people. Guy and Pierre-Yves have created a perfect place from which to explore Oualidia. It's only a 300m walk down to the best spot in the lagune, exactly opposite to 'Plage Paradis', so you're a two minute boat trip away. It's a little bit further from the village, but for the best, freshest oysters you'll ever have you'll gladly walk that walk. So start your day with a great breakfast with fresh cake and fresh orange juice every morning at Dar Beldi (and the price is amazingly affordable too:-)

We spent the first 2 nights of our trip here and found it a very peaceful haven. The street outside was noisy and dirty but once through the gate, all was calm. The garden was a lush little jungle. Our hosts Guy and Pierre Yves were very accommodating and drove us into the main town area for dinner one night. They also organised our boat trip on the lagoon. The breakfast was delicious and especially pleasant served on the terrace by our charming waiter Aziz. The room we had (Aziz) was very roomy and comfortable with a good shower. My only complaint would be that the bed and pillows were fairly hard but as we were very tired from a long flight, that didn't stop us sleeping.

The place is very nice and it is located within the cashba. The breakfast is excellent and the garden is beautiful.
The marrocan staff is very nice and helpfull.
The only cons is that the place is quite far from the beautiful beach, about 15 minutes walking and it is located in an awful street.

Guy the friendly host really created an oasis of peace and flowers here. We couldn't stop looking at the amazing garden and enjoyed having breakfast on the roof terrace. Our room for the first night was really small, but we decided to stay one more night and took a bigger room then. The only thing was, that it was quite cold inside and when it rain overnight, water came in through the windows and our stuff was soaking wet.

This a very charming B + B just off the main coastal highway. It is a short walk from a beautiful lagoon and given another day we would have loved the challenge of negotiating a boat ride across the water to the dunes and surf. We chose Dar Beldi as alternative to staying in El Jadida or Casablanca before departing Morocco and it was one of those not sure what to think travel choices until you experience it. Guy and Pierre were super hosts and we enjoyed talking with them in our anglophone french. Although the street out front is under construction once you pass through the gate it is a garden oasis. We spent our evening enjoying our wine and snacks sitting in our covered patio watching a rain and lightning storm. Breakfast was good quality with mint tea served as well as coffee. We were very pleased with our stay and would recommend it wholeheartedly.

Lovely typical Riad and great value
Rooms have real character reflecting the pretty gardens
Great place to spend a few days or weekend.
Breakfast good rather than great
Bit of a walk down to town or beach so if location is important may not be best
Otherwise definitely the best in town at this price

We found this Riad on Trip Advisor and we had a wonderful 3 nights there. Guy the host was so friendly...he drove us at night to restaurants and picked us up! Very special, we never experienced so much caring before. The garden is so beautiful and must of the rooms opens up on flowers, trees and you could hear the birds singing. Oualidia is a place to go if you like fresh oysters, fresh fish and a quiet place away from big cities and busy medina! PS great breakfast on the terrace (home made yogurt, jam, cake etc...)
