“Perfect nature walk.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

We came at a good time. Even though we were there in the summer, it had been raining quite a bit, and so the waterfalls and the river were full! It's not hard to get to, and you don't have to walk far to get to the good parts. There is a shuttle bus if you're not up to climbing the stairs up/down to the bridge area.

“Something different to do with the family.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

I am not a cavern expert but I wasn't in awe. Still a pleasant and different thing to do with the family. The tour guide made the experience better. However my kids 13,12, and 10yr old boys thought it was boring - secretly think they kind of liked it. Average Joe's are ok but do not recommend this tour for people who have issues going down/up stairs or are easily short winded. Wet, dark, little chilly, and mostly walking up/down stairs involved.

“It is nice but Grand Caverns is better.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

Bring a jacket. We visited it on the 1st day with a group ticket. You can get a good deal with the ITT (military) office.

“Better for kids than adults”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

The tour was informative but not very impressive. Learning the history of the exploration of the cave was the best part.

“Nice, short cavern trip”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

I'd never been on a cavern tour before, and just lucked out that one was starting when I stopped by (around 11 a.m.) and was not too expensive ($15 for just the cavern). I was a bit worried about the strenuousness, because my knees were creaky after a lot of driving, but it was ok. I was glad I had good traction sneakers and a jacket. It was a really nice party, some older people, lots of children and one baby; the children were well behaved. The tour guide shared many interesting historical facts about the cavern. There were a couple of shafts closed off due to flooding ("that was our best stuff") but what there was to see was interesting enough. It all lasted about half an hour which was perfect for me - any more time down there and I might have been tempted to get creeped out.
