“GREAT FOR KIDS!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2011

We had a wonderful time!! The events for the kids were sooo enjoyable for them. We had Pirate theme and the Pirates were "attacking" us with super soakers, Pirate games, etc. Ice Cream Social.. AWESOME! and Karokee was probably the highlight of our trip. That was the 1st time my daughter got to do Karokee and she had a BLAST. There are not many "kid friendly" bars with karokee :) The staff was also very friendly! Arcade was great too.
Definitely will return!

Pros: Very very clean bathrooms and tons of showers. One of the nicest KOAs we have stayed at. fun atmosphere with christmas in july. staff very helpful at 11:00 at night. Drove us to our site and made sure we knew where everything was before they left. very reasonably priced.

Cons: not any

We stayed here over Labor Day weekend and had a wonderful time. Our tent site was large and had a nice raised, level platform. The bath house was very clean. There was also a nice pool but we never used it. Each night they had a band playing and we were suprised at how good they were. There were also lots of activities for the kids. We participated in the glow stick parade, where the kids go on a wagon ride and yell until they are hoarse. It was a good way to settle them down in the evening. We also had fun at the flashlight candy hunt. The campground was right next to the Virginia Safari Park which I also highly recommend. We can not wait to go back here!

I stayed in a Kabin with 3 children for the weekend. The staff went above and beyond to help us and make our stay enjoyable. The kids loved the pool, giant checkers, train rides, and more... the facilities were clean and always available. They even delivered the firewood for us! The Kabin site was private and in a wooded area. The staff remembered our names and were always friendly and helpful. I was so very impressed with our stay, I would recommend this KOA to anyone!

We arrrived after a brief shower and found the campground to be a wonderful retreat. Friday night was "movie night" and we were able to enjoy Transformers right from our campsite. The kids had so much fun, we wanted to extend our stay. The staff was so helpful in making this possible....it involved about fifteen minutes of moving other travelers that hadn't arrived to different campsites...which they were happy to do. The Ice cream social on Saturday night was the biggest hit with the kids.I should mention that the squirt gun battle against "Bad Bart" was a big thrill for the kids also. We can't wait to return again!

The campground was well run and clean. There is enough space between sites. The pool was well kept and the kids (12 and 14) enjoyed it. The bath house is clean. The location was great for exploring the Lexington/Buena Vista area.

The only glitch was the Wi-FI. As noted by other reviewers, it's hit or miss service but really not a big deal since this was a camping trip.

We would stay here again.

This place offers SO much for kids - we did a dragon egg hunt, movie night, plenty of swimming and playground time, and karaoke. The kids LOVED it - and we adults couldn't have been happier. The people who run this place are so friendly and accomodating, and the area is absolutely gorgeous. We saw plenty of wildlife and just hiking the grounds was wonderful.

Restrooms were clean and cool, and shower water pressure was good. And our first 'Kabin' experience couldn't have been better! It made our years of tent camping seem unnecessary - we got all the benefits of camping without the hassle of setting up/sleeping in a tent. The beds were sturdy and comfortable, and since we had electric, we even brought a little refrigerator. The place was clean and well-managed.

We were also right next 'door' (literally) the Virginia Safari Park - and had a great experience there. Being so close made it easy to go back, since the passes were good all day. If all KOAs are like this, we are converted kampers. All in all, a great trip.
