“Good quick stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012 via mobile

The place is small but it is still interesting to see the production up close. The employee working there was very nice and walked us through the steps. We probably didn't spend more than 10 minutes there, but it is only a minute off of the highway, so if you are headed in that direction and are a fan of the chips, it is worth a visit.

“Good fun if your expectations are appropriate”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2012

We included a stop at this factory in a day of other activities in the area and we were glad we did. The chips taste great and even tho we seemed to arrive just before break time, we were able to see about 10 minutes of the operation through the big windows. Everyone was friendly (waving from behind the glass) and it was fun seeing all the different flavors that are produced. We did not get anything close to a tour, just some questions answered as we looked through the windows. We were only there about 0 minutes, including a bathroom stop.

“So Worth It!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

When camping in an area, my husband and I try to find out all the "local" spots to try. Rarely are we disappointed and so a local fella in New Market gave us directions to the Route 11 Potato Chip Factory. I will admit, it is a little tricky to find but worth the effort. Staff was great. They have several samples of their fresh homemade chips ready for you and your family to try. There are glass walls so you can watch the chips being made. While I was standing there watching 3 men add spices with gloved hands to the chips, one of the men looked up, smiled and waved at me. It was a nice touch. The chips are fresh and wonderful. They use different potatos depending on the time of year. I highly recommend the sweet potato chips. This is a must do for you and your family. I would go so far as to say, it is worth the drive from Wahington DC, if you have kids. Few places are left in our area where you can actually see how something is made from hand and then eat it right there!!!

“Fun side trip from Shenandoah Caverns and nearby attractions”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012

This factory tour is a quick stop--viewing windows to see chip making and a small store. Free tour, free samples, clean facility. No restrictions on age. Yummy, yummy chips! Worth a visit. Allow about 30-45 minutes.
