“Friendly place!”

We stopped by for a book signing and enjoyed the wine and coffee. My husband is a "Star*****" coffee guy and really liked the 'no foam latte'...lovely Pinot Grigio !

“Early AM”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

Passing through Middleburg this past Saturday morning on our way to kayaing stopped in to get something to eat. very relaxed homestyle atmosphere. Staff/owners were very friendly and took the time to make sure the order was made exactly as we ordered and if we needed anything else. We both had the breakfast sandwhich egg, bacon, sandwhich on a fresh and hot roll, one espresso and a tea which to my friends delight was great tea. The tea selection was fresh and they made it in a tea screen/bag.

The food was great along with the coffee and tea and the atmosphere relaxed home like setting and a few dogs stopped in with their owners, I definetly will stop in again and take the wife and our pet, leaving the kids at home to enjoy the tranquility of the cafe and beauty of Middleburg .

The experience was excellent and owners/staff friendly and delivered the food to our table and had an opportunity to talk with them. Caring professional staff.

As far as pricing very fair, average pricing for the portion. Way below price for the quality of the food and service. (but don't tell them)

Enjoy !

“Fourth of July Fun”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

We loved this place! We were driving around the Virginia countryside on July 4th, antiques and photography on a beautiful summer day. Driving through Middleburg, we saw a good crowd at the outdoor patio of a small restaurant. With limited choices available on this holliday in rural Virginia (lots of other restaurants, all closed), not to mention mid-afternoon hunger and thirst, the decision to stop here was quickly made.

The restaurant is located on the main drag in Middleburg. The menu and decor matches the area perfectly, Virginia horse and hunt country! There are indoor and outdoor tables, with food ordered deli style at a counter. They offer a nice selection of artisan sandwiches and local beers and wines, as well as a selection of non-alcoholic beverages. They also have a barbecue grill in the outdoor patio.

We ordered a Tuna Salad and a Roast Beef sandwich. Both were excellent. There is an obvious attention to detail in what I surmise is an owner managed and operated establishment.

Friendly service in a relaxed atmosphere serving a selection of great artisan sandwiches and beverages. All in the center of a historic downtown with lots of shops. Good choice for a quick lunch on the go!

“Excellent food and customer service!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

We arrived by bicycle in Middleburg the middle of the afternoon on July 4th, hungry for lunch. Much to our dismay all restaurnats seemed to be closed for the day or at 2pm! Fortunately Common Grounds was open and were even able to accommodate my vegetarian diet by cheerfully offering, and preparing, something off-menu. They also have a very interesting assortment of craft beers.

The coffee is always good and freshly brewed. The staff is always pleasant. I've never eaten there, but it looks good.
