“Best Stay Of Our Vacation...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2010

We rented a suite with two queen beds in a bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the main living room. We actually had two bedrooms, one queen bed in each, each with its own bathroom - I don't know if this was an inadvertent upgrade, but it made our two kids very happy! (They each got their own room.) We rotated the sleeper sofa and I will just say that as sleeper sofas go, it was the best night's sleep I've ever had on one. We didn't need to interact much with the staff, but they were all friendly and responsive to any questions we had. The facilities were clean, same for the rooms. I had read in advance how many people valued the secure parking garage, made me wonder what kind of neighborhood this was in. Although the secure garage is available, I never felt we needed to use it - above ground parking was more convenient and this place is in as safe a neighborhood as you'd hope for. All in all, this was a very comfortable stay in a great location for us (easy access to the beltway and I-66, plus metro stops a reasonably short drive away).

This place is awesome especially with the weekend deals. The hotel is run by very professional staff. The breakfast was quiet good. They have free wired internet in the suites. I wish they had wi-fi.

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of April with my parents. We enjoyed a 2 bedroom suite with many of the amenities of home. We participated in the breakfast each day and the evening meals. We had a car so the free parking was a big plus and even with daily commutes into DC, we didn't find the drive to be too far or too full of traffic. We usually left the hotel by 9am each day.

The staff was terrific from first check in. Always accommodating with directions, suggestions, and any thing else they could help with. The other guests at this hotel were a lot fun too...and full of good suggestions.

We split the room with my parents, so at 90/night each couple, we were very satisfied and would definately stay here again on a return trip. It was great having 2 bedrooms so we could share a room and still maintain our privacy. We would have had to spend much more if we each had to have a room.

Overview of Hotel and Staff
Stayed 3 nights over President’s Day weekend in DC, right after their record snowfall. The lots were well plowed.

Typical Residence Inn. Excellent price ($75 for 1 BR). Conveniently located in the VA suburbs, just outside the Capital Beltway, in a mixed business and residential area, a couple of miles from Dunn Loring Metro stop. I did not see a shuttle to Metro stop so you will need a car to get places. You can walk over to a shopping center with a CVS, restaurants, Starbucks, but no grocery store. Check-in was efficient and staff friendly.

Resort Amenities
Parking is free outside or underground garage. There is an outdoor pool but obviously it was not open in February. There is a small snack area by the front desk. Free breakfast was nice and food plentiful. Business center available although I did not take advantage of it. I believe there was a fitness center but I did not seek it out.

Accommodation
Stayed in 1-BR suite with FULL-size bed and pullout couch. Free wired and wireless Internet access. Microwave, full size refrigerator, and dishwasher. Standard Residence Inn furniture, comfortable but plain. Large HDTV both in the living room and bedroom, which was a nice surprise. Room and carpet were both very clean. Everything was in working order. No room safe.

Summary
Not fancy but roomy, comfortable, clean and great value. Would stay there again.

We have stayed at this Residence Inn every year for the past four/five years. This year the changes are evident:
drain clogged in bathroom, bathtub drain not working, room scented plug-in, layer and layers of dust on vent, and
a broken spring in the chair. Everything was repaired except the chair, however, we had to call and report the problem.
I was most upset with the use of the scented room plug-inn as I have asthma.

The breakfast buffet needs some work. The single toaster is slow and needs to be replaced with about three toaster. The menu needs some variety, not the same thing each morning.

The light supper has really changed, only available on Monday and Tuesday evenings, vegetables on every other
Wednesday. We really did enjoy this light meal after traveling.

We recently stayed at this Residence Inn for two nights to attend a wedding in Arlington, Va. We had a lovely one bedroom suite which was very clean and comfortable. Everything was in working order and everyone employed there was very friendly. We especially liked the underground locked parking garage. We made this our choice rather than where the other wedding guests were staying in Arlington for a couple of reasons. First, the rate was half the price, we did not have to pay for parking at this hotel, continental breakfast was included and we had a kitchen. We have stayed at Residence Inns previously and have always found them to be excellent choices, clean establishments and very good breakfasts included. The pool closes on Labor Day but that was no problem for us as we would not have had time to use it. The expanded continental breakfast was plentiful with eggs, sausage, many different breads to choose from, cereals, fruit, yogurt, make your own waffles, a variety of juices - just an overall good variety. We enjoyed our breakfasts outside on the tables being the weather was still warm although seating appeared to be sufficient inside as well. There is also a very small convenience store located in the lobby should you need something. There is also a small room with a couple of computers for guest use if you don't have your own computer. My husband enjoyed using the fitness room also. We booked about a month in advance and had an excellent rate for a weekend. We would certainly stay at this establishment again without hesitation.

I bid on this room using Priceline. We bid $50 per night in the Falls Church East, 3 star zone. We were assigned this room.

We were very happy with the room. Secure gated underground parking is free, overflow parking on their lot is free. In room internet access is free (wired). A quick call to the front desk to borrow an Ethernet cable resulted in some very fast service, and friendly!

They have a hot breakfast every morning, totally free. It has everything under the sun that you could possibly want. Hot egg burritos with toppings, sausage, potatoes, waffles, cold cereal, hot cereal, fruit, yogurt, and more!

The hotel is nestled in to a residential condo community, it was a good and quiet area. Great for getting some rest.

The room that we were assigned was huge. It was their basic room, it was a little smaller than a studio apartment. It had a full fridge, range, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, garbage disposal, and more.

The room was a little dated, probably remodeled in the 90's. You could tell that it had a lot of miles on it, but the room was totally spotless. Housekeeping came in and actually steamed the rugs and upholstery twice during our 3 day stay. The bathroom was especially clean. We were very happy with it.

The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were down feather. There were plenty of extra blankets, pillows, and other amenities in the closet.

There is an outdoor pool that closes on labor day, unfortunatley the hot tub is outside also, and that is seasonal as well.

The location is about 10 miles from the DC metro area. It is a straight shot into the city, very convenient location.

I would stay here again, even at full price!
