Traveling back from a family vacation in DC, traffic flow put us in Dinwiddie, Mckenny area around lunch time. past experience told that this area was a devoid of any travel amenities. 20 some miles to nearest rest stop, few exits, few gas stations etc... Desperate, we took the Mckenny exit. I spotted the restaurant behind a building on the corner of RIves and Boydton Plank Rd. It didn't look like much from the outside, and the inside could use some updating, to say the least. However. we were hungry and "any port in a storm", we forged ahead and ordered. We got a large sicilian pie with cheese and my daughter ordered cheese ravioli in meat sauce.
The wait staff was pleasant and accommodating.
15 minutes later or order arrived, nicely browned crust, good chewy texture, nicely cheesed, and a pretty good sauce. Holy moly we lucked out! My daughter's ravioli were quite good as well.
If this place were local to us, it would easily be our go-to for a weeknight pizza.
As a restaurant, it was lacking in ambiance and charm, but the food overcame the deficiencies.
