We booked the property having seen only their website, and were planning to use it as nothing more than a home base for our visit to Lynchburg. Once we checked in, that changed! We loved that the innkeeper, Ann, welcomed us at the door with cookies and hot cocoa, showed us to our room-where the fire was ready and waiting- before letting us poke around in the unoccupied rooms (aren't we all curious about the rooms we didn't get?). The room itself was like stepping back in time, but with better plumbing. After the full breakfast Sunday morning, we hugged the other couple goodbye and felt as though we were guests leaving an old friend's home. Lynchburg is a charming old city enjoying a revitalization, and the Federal Crest is the place to experience the city from. Ann and her husband Philip are available by email for advice on restaurants and entertainment weeks before you arrive. We can't decide whether to make it an annual trip or to head back up before then!

We returned from our trip to Virginia last week staying at various Inns and hotels during our three week stay. From the moment we arrived at The Federal Crest Inn we were made to feel extremely welcome and at home. Our rooms were beautifully decorated and with many personal touches including paintings from Ann the owner. Guests ate breakfast together which was delicious and extremely well served and the proprieters couldn't be more helpful. On asking where we would find a laundry they insisted on doing our washing for us while we were out for the day. I would recommend this Inn highly to anyone who is in the Lynchbourg area.

We came to the area to see our grandson play in the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series. The accommodations at Federal Crest were quiet and peaceful with excellent conversations with our hosts, Ann & Phil. The good reccomendations were right on target as suggested to us. Glad we stayed!!! Hope to return.

We spent one night at the Federal Crest in late July. The accomodations were exactly as advertised on the website. The house is beautiful and the location is very convenient in the historic area of Lynchburg. Ann and Phil were very gracious and attentive hosts. We will definitely stay at Federal Crest whenever we visit Lynchburg in the future!
