We originally booked two nights two rooms and were forced to only stay one night as an emergency came up and we had to leave early. The hotel would not refund the second night or even discount the rate. One of the rooms was non-smoking and it smelled terribly of smoke. We had to call the front desk to turn the shower faucet on as it was broken. I mistakenly left a shirt at the hotel and despite three calls back to them they were unable to "find" it. The front desk help, while cordial, was of no help whatsoever on any of these topics/problems. Emailed corporate and received no help at all. Filled out a satisfaction survey and received no reply. Really poor customer service. Beware!

This is an old hotel that has not been kept up. Everything from the ventilation fan in the bathroom not working, mold in the toilet tank, lack of hot water at the far end of the hotel, filthy HVAC, and yes, as most others have said the cigarette smoke odor in the 2nd floor hallway.

I politely voiced my concerns to the front desk. Nothing was done.

The only good things were the mattresses and the cinnamon rolls.

I emailed corporate. I received a form email thanking me for my comments.

I have stayed at this property 4 times and have found that there is simply no upkeep in maintaning the quality I expect. They have upgraded the beds and they are comfortable, but that is about all that I can say in a positive light.

The corridors appear dirty, tired and worn, not to mention the bad odor. I was transferred to three rooms where the toilet did not flush properly. The exhaust didnt work and the light switch failed to turn on the lights sometimes. Over all the bath looked like someone had cleaned it as best as they could, but because of lack of upkeep, it looked and felt dirty.

Everytime I have stayed, I have seen armies of tiny ants invading my room. I have done my best to seal up any foods or beverages, but somehow those ants find there way.

The rooms are very musty and ac/heating system is very old. And thought it did workand I never felt like there was good, healthy circulation going on.

I will not return

I had to laugh out loud when I read "3rd time lucky's" review as we experienced the exact same things A YEAR LATER!! The smoky smell on the 2nd floor was awful...the kicker is that there are only several smoking rooms on that floor. We could never figure out where the smoke was coming from, and into our non-smoking room. Our teenagers had their own room, but the front desk moved them one room down as the TV didn't work. The new room had a bathtub with standing dirty water and the carpet felt damp...maybe they had steamed it or there was a leak. I'm hoping the former. My folks were on the same floor and their TV didn't work all weekend and the toilet ran constantly (must have been "3rd time lucky's" room!) The pool had green algae growing in the bottom and side...looked like it hadn't been cleaned in awhile. However, in all fairness, the staff were extremely nice and they made significant cost adjustments on all 3 rooms my family stayed in. Our favorite Holiday Inn property in Lynchburg is the Select which is located downtown. Much more upscale. Unfortunately, it was booked that weekend.
