“Pure hospitality in a last minute situation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2014 via mobile

My husband got stuck in a snow and ice mess. He was in Purcellville about 35 miles from home. I called this B and B. the innkeeper immediately said she could offer him a room. When he arrived, she did everything to make him comfortable even offered some fantastic homemade soup for dinner. He only stayed for about 12 hours but he was comfortable and enjoyed meeting Barbara. What a wonderful gem of an inn with a hostess who makes everyone comfortable even when the stay is unplanned.

Meeting Barbara and staying at her farm was just like visiting my very favorite relative - so warm, friendly, very clean and cozy! Barbara is a former President of a Civil War Roundtable and has a lovely, lovely library filled with stories about the war. She is also a collector of fine furniture and silver and fills her rooms with these treasurers. But the real treasure is Barbara herself! Planter of blueberry bushes, supervisor of chickens, Barbara made me the most delicious breakfast of fresh eggs, newly baked bread and just picked blueberries EVER! I'm looking forward to returning next year and hope to bring my grandkids with me - they're gonna love this farm....and Barbara!

I always opt for B&Bs over hotels, so it was with much eagerness that I booked a room for a couple of nights at this working farm an hour west of D.C. My mission was to escape the rat race and catch my breath. Creek Crossing Farm is not fancy (although it's filled with lovely furnishings and antiques), so if you want formal, if you want designer bathrobes, a TV in your room, a mini-fridge, and your own Jacuzzi tub with rose petals, skip this place. This experience is more like visiting an old friend at her farm and relaxing to your bones while she tends to her chores. You get a large room with sometimes two antique beds in it (nice for young families who might otherwise not have an opportunity to stay at a B&B); a filling, organic, delicious country breakfast made with ultra fresh eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, yummy waffles, and sautéed apples (!); the freedom to hike around the expansive property - complete with a babbling creek and all manner of wildlife; and glorious peace and quiet. The proprietor is beyond friendly and welcoming. I was treated to fascinating stories about the establishment of the Quaker community of Lincoln and other nearby Quaker settlements, and stories about the history and evolution of the farm. Barbara's son, Joel, a very fine stonemason, also shared stories about a group of local craftsmen (Joel included) who are busy restoring a 300+ year-old stone house using original/authentic materials and building techniques. I've been to a number of B&B's in that corner of Virginia, including the famed and perfectly stuffy Inn at Little Washington, but I had a much, much better time at Creek Crossing! I could easily have stayed for a week or two, but the rat race beckoned. I will be going back to Creek Crossing sooner than later.

We travelled from Toronto to Purcellville for a friend's wedding and had a lovely stay at Creek Crossing. The farm was easy to find and close to the little town for restaurants/groceries etc. The property is lovely, and we just wish we'd had more time to wander around the farm and explore.

The house is beautiful and has all the amenities you would need (ironing board, blowdryer, good bathrooms, comfortable beds etc).

Barbara was very accommodating, and she even drove us to the wedding venue at another farm nearby, very helpful. She made great suggestions for visiting the area, and greeted us with iced tea upon arrival.

Breakfast consisted of eggs fresh from the chickens, and fresh blueberries -- all from the farm, so nice. Barbara is easy to chat with and went out of her way to help us be comfortable etc.

If you love animals, this is the place for you, as Tripper the dog is a constant amusing presence and there are friendly cats around -- but if you're allergic it might not be your cup of tea.

Thanks for a great stay barbara, we hope to be back!

We had a great weekend at Creek Crossing Farm B&B. Barbara was a friendly hostess, offering us refreshing ice tea with mint from her garden on arrival. She welcomed us into her farmhouse of 40 years with its authentic country lifestyle. We enjoyed spending an afternoon sitting on the front porch taking in the beautiful country side with views of the creek and surrounding hills. Breakfasts were simply prepared with fresh ingredients, including local farm fresh eggs, milk, butter, and strawberries...simply delicious ! We found her historic home with her additions to be roomy and comfortable with beautiful sitting rooms, porches and decks which brought the outdoors in. Rooms were furnished with Barbara's touch, antique furniture, knick-knacks, interesting photos with civil war pictures and library...a house full of her own life. What an interesting person she is ! We so much enjoyed getting to know her and spending a weekend at Creek Crossing Farm...a true farm experience.

We just spent the weekend at Creek Crossing Farm with some friends, and we had a GREAT time. The owner, Barbara, was very welcoming and promptly gave us a tour of the many rooms in her B & B, helping us to feel at-home. The rooms were well-appointed w/all necessary amenities (I was happy to have a blow-dryer and nice, comfy towels)! The home was darling, and the owner was charming and fun. The setting is a quaint farm (think cozy French farmhouse) and is ideally located to the NoVA wineries. Breakfast was great (fresh eggs and local pork sausage), and Barbara was happy to give us dinner ideas for local restaurants (be sure to visit The Wine Kitchen and also Magnolias).

Room Tip: We had the room w/the pretty corner tub, and it was great.

I just got home from a wonderful trip to the creek crossing farm. The innkeeper treated us like family, very sweet and welcoming. The house was beautiful with lots of space to relax and unwind. We loved walking around looking at her collection of antiques and books so much to see. Our room was very lovely with big beds and a nice private bath with garden tub. Beautiful house and spectacular views very well done , Thanks Barbara for a wonderful time.

Room Tip: our room included the bathroom with garden tub so i would suggest it two double beds.
