Who would think that you could travel to rural Virginia and find a restaurant which compares favorably to establishments in London, Paris, San Francisco, or New York . . . all for half the price. No, I'm not kidding.

A family favorite, even with our teenagers. The only thing lacking at Cafe Michel's is turning the upstairs into a bed and breakfast. Two or three times a year (more if we can arrange a trip to the beach), we dine at Michel's. It is about an 8 hour drive each way, but worth it. The food is outstanding from appetizer to dessert, and Carmen and Michel treat us like family. We even have our own special table. Now if we only had to climb the stairs after the delicious and filling meal, our dinner out would be complete.

Excellent food; great variety; the best in town

Cafe Michel is consistently a wonderful place to dine. For years, Michel and Carmen offered splendid continental cuisine in Clifton Forge. The menu was always innovative and specialized in seafood of the highest quality. People came from far away, and newspapers wrote glowing reviews.
Now, Michel and Carmen have opened a larger restaurant in nearby Lexington, Virginia. The success of their new venture is a tribute to their devotion to fine cuisine.
