“nice and roomy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Stayed here for recent parents wkend at local college. Rooms are up to date and roomy. Bathroom was clean. Room was clean, except for behind the beds, which was very dusty . One bed had an old vacuum attachment stuck within the dust. But the rest of the room was clean. The hotel is very quiet. The price , as it was parents wkend, was a bit on the high side compared with some of the area hotels. 250 a night is not worth this type of hotel. 200 tops, since it is a crowded wkend. Billing also was slower, since they did not slide the bill under the door at ckout time. Breakfast was typical hotel fair. Average at most

Room Tip: pick a room with the even numbers, you will have the mountain view

With coupon, price was less than $65. and it was Sunday night, and I was one of few staying that night, on Saturday night it was sold out and much higher price due to horse center near by.
I have first floor king room clean and nice. They have changed lobby furniture, old was much better than new. Swimming small and cool but small spa really hit the spot, used twice on this trip. Workout room also just next door and worked out well. Breakfast is great hot food and all included including newspaper. Motel was almost empty this visit.
Large quiet rooms, nice beds, and near restaurants and good place to stayl

Room Tip: upper rooms may be quieter than first floor.

Thank you for your valuable comments. We are really pleased to know that you enjoyed the spa and our hot breakfast. Lexington is mainly a tourist place which is why weekends are packed and weekdays are slow. We are glad to know you could take the advantage of the weekday coupon. Thank you once again. We hope to serve you again in the future.

This was my third time to stay at Sleep Inn on my road trip, and I was almost sold on Sleep Inn as my new favorite hotel UNTIL I stayed at the Sleep Inn in Lexington, VA. I was so disappointed that not all Sleep Inns have the same standard of quality, and you can’t depend on consistency. After I turned on all the lights, it was still a dark dim room. The other Sleep Inns have nice bright lights in the room, helping to make the room feel cheery. Then I saw the footstool was very filthy and stained, probably from people using it as a coffee table. The TV can only be viewed from the bed unless you drag the corner chair over to the bed. TV sits inside a dresser, so it only faces the bed. Forget the idea of sitting at the desk, writing some emails or whatever while you catch a show on TV too. If you want to enjoy your pizza with a movie on TV, you will have to eat on the bed. The rooms are worn looking. The very worst part of this stay was the shower stall (no bathtub). The shower floor was so dirty, that I should have brought shower shoes to wear. Since I didn’t, I decided it was better to skip a shower than stand barefooted on the shower floor. I’ve been to cleaner campground showers than this one. I hope the mgmt is reading this, and considers getting some elbow grease cleaning on those shower floors. It really set the wrong mood for the entire stay when a guest doesn’t want to use the shower.
To end on a somewhat positive note, they have a tiny indoor swimming pool. The deepest part is 4’1. The spa was nice and hot. The entrance to hotel is nice. Check in was pleasant and quick, and the desk clerk explain things like when the breakfast hour and check out time were. The microwave and frig were clean, although they removed the temperature adjustment knob inside the mini frig. The checkout staff was friendly too. No problems with customer service. The location is good, close to a shopping center and Walmart for groceries. Didn't use breakfast service so I can't comment on the breakfast experience. Overall, the value was not as good of a deal as I thought I was getting. If I could do it over again, I would spend about $20 more and get a nicer room at one of the newer hotels.

Room Tip: Bring shower shoes

Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention. Your valuable comments help us determine the problems areas so we can take care of them at the earliest possible. We are extremely apologetic for the problems you encountered during your stay. I have already talked to my housekeeping staff so they can address the cleaning issues immediately. However, we do have rooms with bathtubs as well and could have switched you immediately if we had the opening. We are in the process of undergoing major renovation and want to assure you that within the next couple years, our rooms will be entirely new. We greatly appreciate your positive comments about the staff service. We sincerely hope you will provide us another opportunity to serve you.

This was a great half way stop on the way home from Tennessee. Clean, comfortable and good breakfast. First time that we stayed at a Sleep Inn and we're pleasantly surprised. Will probably stay here again.
We stayed at the Wingate on the way down to Tenn and it was good but we feel that the Sleep Inn fared a little better. I liked the work out facility at Sleep Inn better. The Wingate weight machine was broken and no one knew about it.

Room Tip: 1. Walmart is less than a mile away for forgotten items. 2. Blue Ridge Parkway connection is only 1...

We have stayed here before and will stay again next year. The staff was very friendly from desk clerk, housekeeping, breakfast room. The room had a musty smell, but some spray the AC took care of that. The motel was very clean and well kept. A good breakfast with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, waffles, cereal and all the extra items you usually see. Nice indoor pool and the grounds were well kept.

My family and I live locally and stayed 4 nights in this hotel while some work was being done on our home. I was pleasantly surprised at how NICE this hotel is! The room and entire building was very clean - I noticed how clean even the corners of the carpet in the hallway to the clean, carpeted steps to each floor, to the guest laundry facility. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The pool and hot tub areas were clean and attractive. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast offered each day was plentiful and very nice. I would DEFINITELY recommend this hotel to travelers and to our own family and friends visiting the area. VERY NICE!

Room Tip: The king suite with sleeper sofa was very nice. The whole hotel was quiet.
