We found this Best Western in a rest stop coupon travel book. We called that night on the road (which you have to do when using the coupon book) and got a room. With the coupon the rate was $65 + tax.

The room was clean and had no bed bugs, but it did have a few flies, a spider and a beetle. I'm not a bug person so this didn't make for a good night's sleep!

The bathroom itself it somewhat tiny, but clean so I can't complain too much.

There is a mini-fridge and hair dryer in the room. Beds are comfortable enough. The stay was quiet, although I think they allow for pets so you could hear barking at different points during the night. In all honesty, though, I'd rather hear barking than noisy people. The hotel is an exterior access hotel, which we liked, and is also near - but not right on, the freeway. Don't drink the in-room coffee, it's disgusting.

The breakfast is OK. Scrambled eggs (not fresh, probably instant) and sausages, biscuits and gravy, oatmeal, donuts, yogurt, milk, juices, and coffee and tea.

I recommend this hotel if you need a basic place to stay with no frills. It does the job - gives you a place to sleep. It is far, however, from 5 star.

We are actually still currently staying in this property due to a very violent storm on June 29th that caused millions to lose power. We packed up our doggie and I reserved a room online very early the morning following the storm. We stopped by to make sure the reservation went through because the hotels phone lines were down. Tasha at the front desk was great, very helpful by letting us go ahead and check in due to the extremely high heat. Sooo convenient that they allow pets too! Nice grassy areas to walk the pup. And the rate was very reasonable in my opinion. We actually are choosing not to utilize housekeeping since our dog is with us, but all the ladies we came across this morning have been very nice. We did get some clean towels earlier too.

Fitness room is pretty nice, treadmill, elliptical, weight machine, & a bicycle occupy it. They also have a water cooler which is always a nice touch, along with a private bathroom. Breakfast was really pretty good for a freebie, eggs & sausage, along with biscuits & gravy, cereal, breads, donuts, yogurts, and fruit. Standard coffee, juices, & milks. Very nice indeed.

Our room is a non smoking with a king bed and microwave & fridge. It's very clean & comfortable, has 2 side chairs and a dining type table, along with a desk and separate chair for it. We hope to go home soon when power is restored but if I was in this area I would not hesitate to stay here at all!!

This was our first night stop on a cross country trip. Breakfast was excellent. Room was clean. The main complaint was that the people next door were smokers and smoked directly outside our room. I wouldn't complain typically but they smoked ALL night long --several times I woke up with an overwhelming nasty cigarette smell throughout our room. Our 2nd and 3rd night Best Western experience in other cities were much better.

We recently stayed at 3 different Best Western on a trip to The Outer Banks through Lexington, VA. We ranked this hotel #2 of the three. It was very clean and surprisingly quiet with the exterior entrances and its location near a fairly busy highway during our Saturday, May 26 stay. With its location in a town with two colleges, we checked their calendars to see if prices would likely be raised for a graduation, etc. We have stayed just up the freeway in Staunton several times so that is an option if the Lexington hotels have upped their prices or are booked. I also have a review of the other Best Western which is located really close to this one so check it out, too.

This hotel is amazingly clean and I really checked. I finally found just a little dust on the chair rungs under the chairs in the nice breakfast space where you can enjoy a good free breakfast which included nicely cooked scrambled eggs as a choice. The ladies in the breakfast area were very friendly and kept everything stocked.

The hotel"s location right beside Applebees and a Dairy Queen and gas station make it very easy to take care of business and get back on the road. Don't miss the mockingbird that perches in a light on the parking lot. It really adds to the otherwise typical road trip environment.

Overall, we probably will stay here again and will recommend it to friends and family. Be aware of the rather strict cancellation policy though.
