the hotel is good for what you get. they do have a good breakfast and beds were comfy. you could hear the traffic but was not a big deal since I live in town on a main road. The elevator was a little scary so I took the steps instead.

Already posted detailed review at Hotels dot com. To summarize: --Hotel-- Clean, slightly sparse rooms. Bathroom very clean. Decent wireless with no device limit. Breakfast and the little old lady attendant (didn't get name) was great. She was very sweet --Area-- Visited Safari park (little expensive, but do it), Natural Tunnel (recommend), Wax Museum (shuts down in Sep'14), and Stonewall Jackson's grave. WARNING, Foamhenge is no more, though nothing tells you that. --Dining-- The Pink Cadillac Diner is unique and fun (food only average).

I had a great experience staying at Country Inns and Suites. From an easy check in and a spacious room and spotless bathroom. I had a restful night. I was very surprised by the quality of the complimentary breakfast. So many choices. I was a satisfied customer. I will definatly come back.

Hotel is in need of an update.

Upon arrival we were given a room on the 4th floor. As soon as you got off the elevator it smelled like smoke in the hallway. Our room had a definite smoke smell. They insisted it wasn't smoke smell as the whole hotel is smoke-free - however, they were accommodating and we were switched immediately to a room on the 3rd floor.

Due to the layout of the room, the living space is immediately when you walk in the room so there is no natural lighting - the only window to the suite is in the back bedroom. The lightbulbs were very dim - yellow toned. Very dark in the room.

The carpeting felt wet/damp. The refrigerator had so much ice build-up it wasn't running appropriately and we had to defrost it before we could use it.

The electrical outlet in the bathroom kept tripping if there was anything plugged in whenever you turned on the light switch. The ceiling fan didn't run unless you left it on continuously - then it "got up to speed" and would run.

When I booked the room 3 months earlier I had asked for a suite plus a rollaway. Inorder to use the rollaway, we had to rearrange the furniture in the room - move side table, side chair, and couch inorder to have enough room to open the rollaway - which then left no access to the door to get out. If I had known the rollaway wasn't going to fit - I would probably have rented two rooms.

We paid over $139 a night for this room.

I usually stay at the Hampton Inn when in Lexington but for various reasons could not on this trip.

The front desk was welcoming and helpful. The temperature in the room was set to a bone-chilling 54 degrees when I arrived at about 4pm (on a rainy 80-degree day). The room was comfortable and basic but included a refrigerator and microwave. Housekeeping was quick to swap out the feather pillows for polyester upon request. The bed was comfortable.

I arrived for breakfast just past 6 am and it was pretty basic. The room was already filled with long-term guests doing work in the area and the attendant was busy talking to them, but did find me some tea (only decaf was on display). Unfortunately the oatmeal was on the cool side and there was no fresh cut fruit available (this had been fixed by later in the morning). Nice to have actual dishware instead of paper plates!

The hotel seemed warm in the morning (it was cool outside), perhaps that is why the temperature had been so low in the room?

A perfectly fine stay for one night but unlikely to be my favorite place to stay in Lexington.

Room Tip: The hotel fronts on Route 11 which is busy during the day but quieter at night. A room on the side...

Great Staff, very helpful. Front desk is very informed, checkin was fast and efficient. Rooms were large and up to date, with wireless internet, nice amenities in bathroom and bed room. Very clean, fair in price, and convenient to Washington and Lee University, where we were visiting our son.

The Country Inn in Lexington is a convenient, clean place to stay for either a pass through or, like we did, a brief stay/visit to the Lexington sites. It was quiet, and the staff was upbeat and helpful.
