“Home away from home!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2011

We had to find a place quick for the coveted hotel space during Parent's Weekend and we wanted a B & B. Enfield Place came up and it looked perfect for us. Laid back and comfortable! Not only is the location perfect, but Becky, the owner goes over and above to make your stay great as well.

Enfield House is situated on a little hill overlooking the town. Every morning I had coffee in the gliders with the local wildlife...including deer in the fields. Breakfast was "over the top" delicious. Becky is very eager to please and make your stay wonderful. After long days and nights catering to our children (which we love to do, but can be exhausting), we were able to crawl into comfortable warm beds and get a great night sleep.

The weather on that particular weekend took a turn for the "cold", as in snow.....and being from Houston, we were not exactly prepared. Becky, to the rescue again, made sure we had all that we needed to brave the weather.
Thanks Becky and see you next year! We have already booked Parent's Weekend 2012.

“Great B&B and Takes Dogs”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

After spending the afternoon touring Lexington, my husband and I looked for a B&B that would take our dog. Enfield B&B proved perfect for us. The property feels like it's in the country but less than a 5-minute drive from downtown Lexington and its restaurants. There was a large lawn backing up to a fenced-in field of cows (which our dog loved). Before dawn, great stars in the sky; in the morning, a beautiful sunrise. In warmer weather, there is a swinging chair and gazebo. Becky, the owner, was gracious--cooked breakfast to order with some of the best homemade bread I've ever had. She even sent me home with some ground wheat to try my own luck with the bread. Very comfortable sleeping; very quiet.

“Great Country B&B Two Minutes From Town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2011

My husband and I were traveling to Lexington for the first time to visit my step son, who had started law school there a couple of weeks earlier. The first couple of places that came up on the local visitor's site were booked up (I later learned it was the weekend undergrads at Washington&Lee moved back). What luck for us, as I was forced to look beyond the first few places on the list, and found this wonderful b&b.

What first attracted me to this particular place was the breakfast description, with choices that included organic bacon and whole grain waffles. And I was right - the breakfasts were delicious and healthy, a fabulous combination. The owner grinds her own spelt flour. While we were there, we had whole grain waffles, homemade whole grain bread and banana cake. They all were wonderful.

Becky, our host, was friendly and helpful, and even invited us to join her family as they celebrated Labor Day weekend. I liked her so much that I have to work to make sure that this review isn't biased! We reserved the suite, which included a bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom. My husband, who does not notice these things, looked around our room and said "This place is spotless!" We also were offered the use of most of the house and property, including Adirondack chairs positioned with a view of the adjoining meadow and treeline, and a charming gazebo.

I have been to B&Bs that offer robes, chocolates stuffed in dishes all over the room, potpourri, etc. This place does not have those things. It has a convenient location, great food, comfortable facilities, and a wonderful host, all at a reasonable price. I plan to stay here many more times!

Room Tip: We had the suite, but I looked at the rooms and they were very nice. I would be happy to stay in on...
