“Don't miss the Museum”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2013

Whilst visiting the very impressive Institute and Grounds, don't miss the Museum. It is easily missed, sited as it is in the basement of the Chapel, but make the effort. There you will find a history of the Institute including the Civil War and stories of notable alumni who attended the Institute. But the prize must go to the comprehensive collection of antique firearms put together by Henry Stewart which chart the search for a succesful revolving cylinder gun.

“Very Nice Campus!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

VMI is an excellent institution. I love their time-honored military traditions and the excellent education they offer their students. The Marshall Museum is well worth the visit as are several of the older buildings and campus in general. The campus is very well kept and their parade grounds make you want to go home and replace your lawn. The Friday afternoon full-dress cadet parade is well worth watching. The 4th of July community festival and fireworks are on the parade grounds and are certainly worth the visit if you are in the area at that time.

“For the history buff, there is just something about it.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013 via mobile

Passing through on way to Gettysburg and stopped at VMI. Wow, it is so great. The grounds are so beautiful and drips of history, from the pre civil war barracks to the original 4 cannon, it is so worth the time. The small museum is great and full of items and free.

“nephew graduation 6/2013”

always loved VMI, their cathedral is breath taking and VMI is with in walking distant to everything. Try to catch a ballgame while there if you can. Also plan to spend several hours there looking at everything.

“Beautiful campus”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2013

Lots of history here in a lovely setting. Walking around the campus was impressive. The museum was small but interesting. A good display on Stonewall Jackson.
