We stayed at Riders Rest B&B in September 2012 on our trip back to Washington DC. Bernie is a great host and gave us a warm welcome. As we arrived early we expected to be told to go and wait somewhere, but not so, Bernie very helpfully let us get in and unpack straight away. He runs the place on his own and manages superbly. Breakfast was ample and freshly cooked, and he is helpful in recommending places to visit and to eat. Room was clean and he was keen to ensure that we knew how to adjust the heating and cooling to our individual satisfaction. Good location, quiet area but only10 minutes drive from centre of Lexington, which is a very nice little town with lots of boutique stores and quaint shops, and close to restaurants, supermarkets etc. From the web site we did expect a large house for horsy people, but the riders are bikers rather than equestrian. Not a problem for us, but horse people take note.
