After reading other reviews about dirty rooms, I was a little apprehensive staying at this hotel. We stayed 4/10 and it exceeded my expectations. The building and rooms are outdated, but very clean. The towels were fine, the blowdryer worked fine, and the beds were comfortable. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. She was happy to provide a cup of hot water for my tea and answered all my questions regarding the area. The breakfast was the only downside - stale and sweet. The lady working the breakfast area was friendly and quick to tidy up the area and refill items. The front desk clerk was very efficient with the check out. No complaints and I would stay there again. Great views!

We recently made a road trip to Nashville and stayed here on our return journey to NJ. I booked it mainly because of the reviews on here and secondly for price.
Trip advisor reviews have never let me down but they did this time.
The hotel is very old, smells musty and looks like it has never neen updated since it was built in the 60's
The rooms may be large but that is all that is going for them. The 2 double beds had metal frames that creaked horribly every time you turned over. The tv had about 2 channels and had a very poor picture. There was a lot of noise even though our room on the 5th floor faced down the valley away from the highway.
Near the elevator was a sign for vending machines but there was just an empty space.
One plus was the lady who booked us in on Moday evening and also supplied me with hot water for a cup of tea. She was charming.
The lady who booked us out on Tuesday morning, while polite was a bit surly.
The clientele at breakfast , which we didnt stay for as we needed to hit the road were of an older generation. Plus there was a large tip jar on the breakfast table, I have never seen that before in a hotel serving breakfasts.
We did drive into the center of Lexington and passed some much newer hotels, given the choice I would look at these next time.

As parents of a VMI cadette, we have frequented this hotel numerous times over the past few years and have only stayed at another hotel if a room was not available at this location. From the outside the building may appear a little dated, but you walk into a fresh and clean lobby, always friendly and courteous on-site personnel, always clean and ready rooms as promised upon arrival, and we have never had a bad experience. The room rates are an exceptional value and this hotel is a great choice for a Lexington weekend.

This was a stopover night on the way home from Florida. The check in was quick and the desk clerk was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, large but best of all was the comfort of the bed. A very good sleep after a long day. The morning breakfast was crowded as there was a high school group on a bus tour, but the food bar was kept well stocked. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and will now be our new stopover point on our many trips to and from Florida.

Room Tip: Rooms on the east side would face the highway. Although we stayed in the front away from the highwa...

Very dirty - for the price there are much better options. The grass has not been mowed, the carpet smelled and the towels were exceptionally thin. The staff was friendly and courteous. But we really just wanted a clean and quiet room - and we got neither.

My husband and I needed a stopover on our way to Washington D.C. I usually don't book pet friendly hotels, but decided to go with this one because of the good reviews that it got. I was not disappointed. The checkin was fast and the clerk was very nice. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was pretty good for a continental breakfast. The price of the room was an exceptional value. I will definitely stay here if I am ever through that way again.

Although the building looks dated, this hotel is almost perfection, particularly when you take the price into consideration! Comfortable bed, clean and large room with everything you'd need: free internet, free yummy breakfast, extremely efficient and friendly staff, and--to top it off--a breathtaking view of the Shenandoah Valley!
