“Visually Attractive and Well Located”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

The building and grounds are lovely. The hotel had all the Hampton Inn features. There is a beautiful downtown area located within easy walking distance with several upscale restaurants. A very nice change for someone traveling long distance. For me, a very nice feature was the fact that there was no TV in the breakfast room. How pleasant, and how rare, not to be bombarded with noise during the early morning.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn for a wedding over the fourth of July. The hotel is great - room was clean, breakfast was good, and there was a pool at the hotel. The staff was VERY friendly. Would highly suggest this hotel!

Beautiful ground, lovingly preserved historic home, and new room additions which look as thought they could have been original to the structure. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely views of the grounds from the elegant breakfast area with indoor and outdoor seating options. Easy walk to historic downtown area.

Room Tip: 2 queens are large, ours overlooked the courtyard front entrance. Some rooms have small balconies.

Had a great stay here on July 4th and we watched fireworks from the hill next door. Beautiful hotel. Kids had fun in the pool. Walkable to downtown area. Staff were very nice and helpful. Beds are not the most comfy, but not bad. Overall really great experience.

A large, comfortable room and breakfast on the porch of an 1827 Manor House... It was such a relaxing, pleasant place to stay that leaving was difficult to do! We were very impressed with the town of Lexington and the surrounding countryside. Staying downtown at the Hampton Inn was convenient, easy and of course, since it's a Hampton Inn, consistently above average. The room was super clean and the carpet and furnishings fresh. The pool looked inviting but we didn't have the time to enjoy it during this trip.

We stayed in the Historic rooms, which are in the restored mansion. Our room was lovely, as nice as a luxury bed and breakfast. Easily the nicest Hampton Inn we have ever seen. Excellent bed, decent linens and beautiful, generally colonial furniture and décor. Breakfast is served in the downstairs historic rooms, all of which are nicely restored and very pleasant. The staff is friendly and helpful. Do be aware that there is no elevator to the second floor historic rooms, meaning you have to use the 170 year old staircases. Being a Hampton Inn, there are also no bellmen. Not a problem for us, but a consideration for some. The Historic rooms are more expensive and must be specially reserved on the website or by phone. But, they are worth it.

Room Tip: The Historic Rooms must be specifically reserved.

The most unique Hampton Inn I have ever visited. The main building is an 1820's era mansion, with hotel rooms in the back. Very comfortable and close enough to walk to downtown Lexington that has a variety of shops and restaurants. We even walked over to see the grave of General Stonewall Jackson. (bring your own lemons) Definitely would stay here again when traveling on I-81 through Virginia.

Room Tip: We stayed in the back by the log cabin, very quiet.
