“A pleasant surprise”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We always stay at Hamptons and accidentally came across this one at Lexington. Wow, what a find. The grounds are beautiful and the hotel very historic. We loved lounging on the front porch pretending that this was our own personal mansion back in the 1800s. It is a sort distance from the hotel to downtown Lexington, with many fabulous restaurants. The cost was a bit pricey for us, but the stay was so much fun it was worth it. This is one Hampton Inn we will always remember.

“Great location to visit LEXINGTON, vA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Best property to stay at in Lexington. Most of the rooms are large and well appointed. Breakfast, which is included, is very good and well serviced by staff. Two types of rooms - newer hotel rooms which are more consistent- and the manor house rooms which are inconsistent. We have stayed in all of their room types in three stays at the hotel. In the manor house rooms you could be very pleased with a grand room room complete with fireplace or, for the same price, a room which you can't move around in with not enough chairs to sit and was obviously servant quarters before the civil war. The room attendants never changed our water glasses over a five day stay and the breakfast staff noise at 5am was irritating (to name two of several examples) so I am not convinced this property is delivering the service necessary to justify the rates they are charging for the manor house rooms.

Room Tip: If staying in the manor house demand a room with a fireplace - they are the larger ones. The newer h...

“Very interesting Historical Hampton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This Hampton was very interesting, as it was in a Historical building. It looks like a plantation from the 1800s out front, but was newly renovated inside. The furnishings, wood floors, and large rugs were charming. The rooms were standard King size rooms, with everything you expect from a Hampton.
We stopped without a reservation, and the staff worked hard to accomodate me and my husband on crutches, even taking me to the room first, to make sure the access was good for my hubby. Overall, it was a brief, but enjoyable stay!

Room Tip: We stayed on the first floor in a room by The Cabin out back. We really liked the one-way drive. I...

“Continue to love Hampton...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We needed a place for one night to break up a long roadtrip after a cancelled flight. Picked the Hampton based on TA reviews and were glad we did. It was more cost-wise than the other presented options but we had a large room with a very nice king bed and a double sleeper sofa for the kid. Just what we needed after 10 hours in the car. Check in and out was fast and very friendly- the staff here knows how to treat their customers well. Complimentary breakfast was fantastic with many options and it was a pleasure eating in the beautiful manor house that makes up the lobby and main areas. Good coffee too. Lexington is a great little place and I would say this has got to be the best in town- location wise as well.

“Really Enjoyed My Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

This is a very unique hotel. The reception area and several special rooms are part of an old mansion, the modern hotel is tucked behind. It is quite close to downtown - walking distance to most things, yet secluded and peaceful. Staff was helpful and friendly. The only downside I noted was that the outdoor hot tub was covered for the season.
