At lunch my culinary companion ordered a cup of Cream of Crab soup, and we both got Mama's Club sandwiches on wheat. My culinary companion lauds the Cream of Crab soup as the best the diner has ever experienced, including (!) a fondly remembered experience from somewhere on Cape Cod. Again, the soup fit the billing as a piece of meat about the size of a crab thigh showed up on the spoon, prompting us to momentarily forget the sorrows associated with our trip, helping put my culinary companion figuratively in the same place our day's star now occupies. The clubs came loaded, and they were very good.
The lone server, while capable and friendly, was a bit overtaxed by the near-crowd.
Again, GPS is recommended if one is approaching from Rt. 7 on Catoctin Circle because the parking lot is about four feet above the road bed, and there is an odd-angled view towards the restaurant.
