We spent a pre-Christmas afternoon in one of The Tuscarora Mill's private rooms, and our small group of nine were treated as if there were hundreds of us. The private bartender/server was very attentive and personable, the wine and beer list was very nice, and the menu choices were outstanding. The room was beautifully decorated with Christmas hangings, which added greatly to the atmosphere. The place was bustling, as verified by the many people coming and going as we enjoyed our multi-windowed private room. Appetizers of Flash Fried Oysters, Lobster medallions and spring rolls were delicious and gone quickly! Menu choices were plentiful; especially notable were the Seafood Salad, the Shrimp and Grits, and the myriad CHOCOLATE desserts. All in all the experience was very nice, and we would return happily the next time we're in the area to try the public restaurant, bar or tavern. Parking was easily accomplished although the place was very busy, and the Mill also contains other shoppes (as opposed to shops!) and places of interest. Would recommend to groups or individuals.

Like so many other local restaurants, clientele rate the place more by how hard it is to get a table rather than how outstanding the meals are. The menu selections were typical of the Wash DC outer suburban choices. Have to say that the service was good. Personally not drawn to go out of our way to go back, especially when Frederick MD has some many out of the ordinary establishments to visit.

The food is very good! We especially like the bar where you can order from the cafe and the restaurant menus. It is a nice drop-in and special occasion restaurant.

The menu is the best and most imaginative in town. Preparation is uniformly good. Never has better Shirip and Grits anywhere.
