Went for a lunch trip on a weekday - passed by the post office and the smell was too good to pass by. We made the mistake of ordering the stuffed jalapenos wrapped in bacon - they weren't great - they arrived within 2 minutes of ordering which told us that they weren't 'fresh' and the cheese was pretty much congealed and had been pre-cooked. I didn't like the stuff either - was cream cheese with brown sugar - which could have been good - but served cold - was horrible.
The pork was good - my husband thought his pulled pork was really good - mine was fatty - he had ribs - he said they were "OK' - which from him means they weren't great.
My husband loved the beans - which were almost like chili - you could make a meal fo them - my only problem with the beans is it looked liked they dumped the kitchen sink into the beans. They were very tasty tho.
Lots of options for sauces - the Carolina sauce was just like vinegar with no substance, the mustard sauce was also water, the red sauce was good - if you combine a few - you can get some good seasoning.
Cole slaw - great - perfect if you season the accompanying beef/pork/etc
I won't go back - I get the impression that these guys warmed up food from the day before. I was not impressed. would like to support a local foodery - but not this time. I gave AVERAGE rating to not pull the rating average down too far....sorry!
