Not too much to see here, but worth a short visit if you are in the area. The info boards detail everything you need to know. Another fight fought in error!!

“Great little place to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2013

I live at Ball's Bluff and the trails here are great. Despite the earlier review of this park.....NVRPA does a good job taking care and maintaining this park. Some of the trails intersect with the Potomac Heritage Trail.
The historical aspect is interesting...plus, there is also local lore that this park is haunted.
It's quiet, there are nice trails, plenty of wildlife and a little piece of local and national history. Can't go wrong!!

“Little known Civil War battlefield”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2013

This is one of those out of the way places that few ever visit, but should. It is home to the smallest national cemetery in the US and is the scene of of one of the earliest battles of the Civil War, and one which had a profound impact on the Union. The only US Senator ever killed in combat died here. A close personal friend of Lincoln, his death along with that of many union soldiers shaped the conduct of the war for several years. Hidden away at the back of a subdivision, you should visit it if you have any interest in history or the civil war.

“Unknown Battle site.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2013

For the history buff or for a nice evening walk, this hidden park is very nice.Tucked away in the bustling suburbs of Leesburg you will find the site of an accidental Civil War skirmish. At the end of the trail you will find a Union cemetery with graves of the unknown troops who fell that day. In the parking lot you will find a sign denoting the length of each trail. Also is a brochure describing a self-guided walking tour. Interpreter led tours are available on Saturdays and Sundays for an hour or two..
