We dined here because we had a local coupon that gave us a few dollars off. We were not expecting much because we had not heard anything about the restaurant. It turned out to be a marvelous hidden gem.
We should qualify our review by saying that we did not have a main course. Happy hour runs until 7pm and we ended up just getting 6 appetizers (Tappas menu) for $4 each. The portions were very generous -- as large if not larger than a 'small plate' at many similar restaurants.
ALL of the appetizers were good, though we especially like the clams & mussels and the scampi.
Glasses of wine were $5 as were martinis. Beer was less.
The bartender was our waitress as we opted to eat in the casual downstairs bar area as opposed to the upstairs dining room. She was attentive and very pleasant without being an annoying 'Helicopter Server' like one encounters as most of the chain restaurants -- constantly hovering and interrupting.
We both had desert and since they weren't 'on special' they were a good portion of our final bill but they were worth the money and the calories -- my wife had the Pana Cotta and I had the Tortino Choccalato.
My only potential complaint was that the music was very loud when we came in, but then the IPOD broke and the music went off so I can't say if it would have been an issue or not, but as nice as the staff was I believe they would have done what they could to accommodate us if it had been a problem.
