I visited Fabbioli for a tasting experience and was extremely impressed with not only the wines but with the zeal and passion for thr art of winemaking that Doug Fabbioli expressed throughout the visit. The Paco Roho, Chambourcin and Raspberry Merlot are without fault and each of his other varietals are fabulous as well.
Virginia is beginning to be recognized for its wine country and Fabbioli is surely leading the way and setting a standard for the newer winemakers to live up to.
As for the place itself, it's quite charming. A nice place to cozy up to a fire outdoors on a chilly day and enjoy a glass of vintage. The tasting rooms are well appointed.
My only complaint, the young lady who conducted our tasting seemed to not be able to offer much knowledge about the wines and didn't have the white wines chilled. I later was able to taste the Una Peara chilled and it made all the difference in the world.
Aside from that, I was already making plans to return as I left the property. A great place to spend time any day of the week! Make sure you speak with Doug Fabbioli when you visit. His knowledge and joie de vive will greatly accentuate your experience!
