This place is a tiny hole-in-the wall cottage where you can get very tasty Salvadorean food and rotisserie chicken (and sides like yucca) in an elbow to elbow setting. Seriously, the food is darn good but if you have claustrophobia or need order and calm, this may not be the place for you. People waiting for take-out can block the front door completely and if it gets hectic orders may come out slowly or get scrambled. But whatever you get served you'll probably like it. Just smile and say gracias!

We have been to La Chocita Grill a few times, and recently went there with friends. My friend's first comment upon entering the restaurant was, "This is just like eating in someone's kitchen!" and she is totally right - comfy chairs, colorful throws on the table, and the warm colors of the dining room make it feel like a home.
Their menu is extensive, and food is freshly prepared and cooked to order. They have no bar, and that adds to the cozy kitchen-y atmosphere. The specialty seems to be their delicious chicken and although they have food from Mexico, Latin, and South America on the menu, everything looks and smells delicious! I am especially fond of their cheese and pork pupusa, served with its wonderful cabbage slaw! Their combo plate has a bit of everything and seemed to be very popular the night we were there. But the next time, I will be ordering their amazing seafood soup/stew, especially after inhaling its aroma as it was served to a fellow diner. It will be just perfect, now that winter's arrived!

We went with high hopes. How can you mess up chips and salsa? Stale/hard chips, watery salsa. Combo platter was fair at best. Shared with companion, and was his assessment as well. He had chicken as part of his meal, and that was good. We skipped the planned fried ice cream as we were so unimpressed. Huge disappointment.

After eating there many times, I can say everything is delicious! Prices are excellent and the portions are generous. One good clue: Many of the customers are Latino.
