I was so looking forward to using a deal I purchased via a discount site. My husband and I wanted to get away before our 2nd baby was due and this was as good as we could do without travel since I'm restricted. The first issue was in the booking of the weekend. There were some great staff that ended up assisting though to get us I this past weekend. We checked in and all was great. Went to eat at the their onsite pub. The next day had some amazing spa treatments with Lisa and Rose. After we went to eat and knew they had a great soup and salad buffet in their restaurant and to our shock (for a AAA diamond property nonetheless) NO FOOD OUTLETS were available expect in-room dining. You could go to the golf course for their restaurant which we walked to and had an appetizer but I couldn't eat anything else off their menu. I am shocked that no food outlets are open. I inquired at front desk and response was "I don't know why" and then a gentlemen said are you in room 405 or something so thanks for letting me know there is another pregnant woman in that room. If you have no food outlets open you really should inform guests when they check in what is and isn't open and then don't charge me $6 for delivery. I am in the hospitality industry so I can tell you right now based on this I would never book or recommend. Sadly we both became a little ill later that day and I called down to room service. I have traveled extensively and know that room service CAN make custom meals for those with restrictions. I asked for just a few bagels. Was told they didn't have any and explained that he might not have them in front of him but to please inquire. A few minutes later of course he did have some. Zach was wonderful to deal with. I appreciated it greatly. We were able to actually eat in the dining room the next morning for breakfast but again I had some issues and they were going to charge me $6 for a mini-bagel like one you'd give to your 2 YO already. So I had to get the continental which was such a waste of money. There was no helpfulness to assist with requests and that was disappointing. This is not the first time I've had issues here with food outlets or booking in general but was hoping that it would be different. I can say that I'm not sure I would want to book again. I'm on the fence and it's a shame as the grounds are lovely.
