Stayed at Lansdowne Resort for a 3-day conference. It was a great experience. The surrounding golf courses and landscape made it a very tranquill location to rest after meetings. I managed to get early check-in, and they gave me a 2 queen beds. The room smelled a tad musty, and the furnisings looked used. But the size was nice, and I had a very comfortable stay. Shower facilities are adequate, and the shower gel and shampoo are in large bottles latched onto the bathroom wall.
Breakfast starts at 0630hrs, and the service makes you feel like royalty! I enjoyed the morning banter with service staff asking if I wanted any fruit juice together with my coffee/tea. The spread of food was okay, and you get the usual yoghurt and cereal and bakery items, with the hot food (sausages, scrambled eggs, potatoes etc).
Now, what I REALLY like about the resort, is its close proximity to Leesburg Premium Outlet. Yay! It cost me about $25 to get there, and I split the cost with 2 other colleagues. We spent about 3 hours there, and it was barely enough.... The resort is far away from Washington DC though, so be prepared to shell out close to $120 if you want to go to DC by a taxi.
