I fell in love with the Hope and Glory Inn when I found their web site. The pictures of a sleepy little town accompanied by the soft voice of Norah Jones melted my January filled heart. I carefully choose a room and placed the call. Peggy answered and was most helpful and inviting- as she's prone to be. The place was exactly as I had imagined based on the web photos. What I hadn't imagined was the warm welcome throughout our stay by both Peggy and Dudley. The rooms were beautiful and of course very clean as well as beautifully and whimsically decorated. (By the way the beds are sooo comfy!) My husband and I both loved our time there and look forward to our next trip - hopefully next year. It's a perfect getaway sans kids.
If you do get a chance to go plan on breakfast in. Their chef is simply amazing. I had mentioned that I just LOVE biscuits and gravy and sure enough it was on my plate the next morning (wonderful coincidence I'm sure). The first bite was pure heaven. Unfortunately the second brought a tide of tears that continued until I finished eating. I was just so touched that Peggy and Dudley had gone out of their way for me, how unbelievably good it was and how I felt I had finally come "home". All that in two bites. I just wish they offered dinner and lunch too! We really didn't want to leave the cozy little world they'd created.
Well worth the trip if for no other reason than having the opportunity to meet two wonderful people. Peggy and Dudley if you're reading this we're sending you a great big hug.
