“The Local - excellent local coffee shop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013

Our motel's restaurant breakfast was too expensive, so we came to main street and ate here. Good breakfast sandwiches and they are flexible about the menu. They gave my wife a scrambled eggs breakfast instead of a sandwich. Coffee, teas, etc. They have a large sandwich selection on the menu for lunch as well as salads. This is a good place. AND good WiFi.

Nice alternative for breakfast. The coffee was really good. Go, to get a break from other options in the area.

We enjoyed our warm toasted eggs cheese and bacon sandwiches, chilly iced coffee and having perfect connection to plan the next leg of our trip!

“A good alternative”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013

We stayed at the Tides Inn and loved being able to ride (their) bikes to The Local and have decent (but not terrific) coffee and a lighter (and less expensive!) breakfast than that offered at the Inn. We had muffins one morning and they were nice, and we had egg/bacon sandwiches the next morning - warm and filling, but the cheese was bland and the eggs were scrambled vs. fried. We also had lunch here one day - we had the Belle salad and the Spinach salad. They were reasonably tasty, although they lacked a certain "something" (too much greens, not enough "stuff" - but the price was reasonable so perhaps my expectations were too high for the cost). Loved the vibe of being among the regulars (like the daily confab of distinguished, grey-haired gentlemen at the round table in the corner), and the haberdasher who owns the small adjoining shop was charming.
