this hotel is gorgeous! i am just back from a week there with my partner, we are both in our mid 20s. the grounds are kept very clean with staff working on it throughout the day. the staff speak excellent english and are always happy to help. the staff wait on you hand and foot. if you sit at the pool bar its waiter service as in the piano bar in the evening. i started to feel guilty how they run around after you and went to the bar to order drinks but the waitress came over to me, took my order and asked me to sit down and she will bring it to me. very excellent and friendly service!!! cant fault them there at all. i cant really fault this hotel at all. the food however is very average and would suggest a B&B over half board etc. there are some nice restaurants around, esp Dom Diniz, lovely fish. O'Marinheiro was ok but service awful. again good fish - though make sure if you order fish you specify how you want it served - lots of faces fell, including my own when the fish came fully in tack with eyes! would recommend getting a freemaps document form the hotel. this lists where you can eat, you might have to walk 10 mins but there are more options when you do. the rooms are lovely, and have air con which is needed all through the night. we used the minibar as a fridge for drinks we bought at the local shop (less than 5 mins down the road beside Dom Diniz). it is a small fridge though. no tea or coffee facilities in the room - was very disappointing. would recommend specifying a sea view - its amazing and so worth it. also all sea views are pool views too. shower is amazingly powerful too!! beds very comfy. the pool is lovely, cold but good layout and separate kids pool to the back and jacuzzi situated over part of the main pool, good for sitting in and sunbathing on the side. pool bar OK for food and drinks but they are pricey. i would recommend a very small walk to the shop for drinks (52c rather than 2.30euro!). also better selection of lollies and ice cream at the shop. area doesn't have much being just outside Albufiera. the hotel runs a FREE bus service to Gale beach and Albufeira. last collection from beach is 5pm and from Albufeira 7pm. there are also some AMAZING beaches all in walking distance. the area has a lot of villas and residential so a lot of locals and less tourists. this was nice! the area is nice and unspoiled by tourists. i would recommend a car hire to see more and be able to get around when it suits you. i do recommend this hotel and would consider going back if i go to the algarve again. i had an amazing week here! NOTE this is a quiet location so if you want more night life rather than a relaxing drink this isn't for you.
