Despite being professional entertainers and experts in hospitality, John and Linda's Heaven's Holler doesn't feel like a business - it feels like visiting a friend's beautiful place in the mountains. The pictures speak for themselves, but what they do not capture is the sense of home that got us to completely relax and unwind. Don't be fooled, though, they can also put on a party if that's what you're looking for.
I agree with the reviewers that called this the best bed and breakfast they have been to. We were blown away by the property, the views, the food, the atmosphere and the hosts themselves (including two adorable dogs). We definitely hope to come back.

We stayed in the Nola suite but took a look at the loft suite, and both were wonderful. Last but not least, do not leave without coaxing John and Linda into bringing out the guitars for a song.

The pictures and reviews online caught our attention, our first sight of the place took our breath away, the warm welcome captured our hearts. This charming, eclectic, inn and the incredible couple that own and operate it blew us away. Completely and utterly relaxing. It's many quiet, private spaces make you long to be an artist, poet or musician. Inspiration and spirit and creativity surround you. A perfect mix of comfort, art, music, design, simplicity and elegance. Linda and John have created a place that will nourish your soul. The highest compliment I can give is that upon the morning of our departure another guest inquired " are you friends of the owners" ? My reply, " We are now". We will return again and again for as long as they remain open, for French Toast on the porch in the morning sun, for walks with the dogs across the green fields, for great music and conversation late into the night. They Bless all with their gracious hospitality and open hearts.

Room Tip: We stayed in the Loft and most likely always will, though both the Nola Suite and the new cottage sp...

Heaven’s Holler Bed and Breakfast is the perfect place to find whatever you’re looking for in a getaway. My wife and I were just here for our anniversary celebration, and the innkeepers John and Linda made us feel incredibly special from the first moment we walked in the door. There were special touches around every corner that you wouldn’t find at a normal bed and breakfast.

When we pulled into the driveway, a beautiful dog came up to our car to greet us. She nudged us a little, and then actually lead us to the front door, never being more than 2 steps ahead of us, and looking back the whole time to make sure we were following. Was this intentional? If so, wow. Awesome training!

We were promptly met by Linda, who was inside working in the kitchen. We originally booked the NOLA Suite, which is the smaller of the suites in the main house. Linda said that they had a last minute cancellation, though, so they would like to upgrade us to the Loft Suite as an anniversary gift. We were also informed that we’d be the only guests here for the weekend, so we’d have the whole place to ourselves.

Linda took us up to our suite, which is just beautifully appointed. I can only imagine the money and time spent on decorating this space. The room is two levels, with the living room and bathroom on the first level, and just the bed on the upper loft area. A French door opens up to an outside balcony, which boasts a view that is worth a million dollars – or more! It boasts perfect views of the morning dew rising in the mountains and the sunrise, as well as views from all around the property. A Jacuzzi tub is the main feature of the bathroom, with an archway and curtain separating it from the main living room. The furnishings leave you wanting for nothing, with chairs and a couch throughout the room as well as on the balcony. The bed is a king, with the most beautifully colored comforter I’ve ever seen. Oh yeah, it was super comfy too!

When we arrived in our room, we found a beautiful bottle of red wine imported from Italy, as well as a freshly made cheese and fruit plate to welcome us. It was a great way to start our getaway with a glass of wine and a snack on our balcony.

After getting situated in our room, we checked out the property. On the far end, past the barn and the brand new self-sufficient suite that is detached from the main house, is “The knob.” This is a platform that stands on the foot of a hill, and overlooks a huge expanse of the property, and also has a perfect view of all the mountains in the distance with no obstructions. There’s a table and chairs there too. This would make a great place for some meditation or yoga. So peaceful and quiet here, and away from the main house.

We were then invited to the pub to help ourselves to a beverage. There were about 20 spirits to choose from, and various mixers. We had a cocktail, and then came back inside to the living room for a moment.

Also in this beautiful home is a historic baby grand piano that has been in Linda’s family since it was made in August of 1896. I decided to play a few tunes before retiring for the evening. It is kept in perfect tune, and isn’t showing its age at all. It plays perfectly. As a seasoned pianist, it was truly an honor to play such a gorgeous instrument.

We slept perfectly in our bed, and woke up around 8 to the smell of coffee wafting up to our loft. We opened up our door, and there was a carafe of coffee and all the fixins just outside the door on the table. Sugar in the raw, organic cream, and the most flavorful coffee we’ve ever had. We enjoyed our cups of that out on our balcony before heading down to breakfast.

We chose to have our breakfast at 9:00 (yep, you choose the time, and you choose what you eat from a menu!) and it was right on time. We were served outside on the front porch. I had New Orleans style Eggs Benedict (a first for me,) and the wife had Bavarian French Toast. Both items were just outstanding. Fresh asparagus with the eggs, roasted potatoes, and an edible flower. For the French Toast, it was served with whipped cream that was hand made in house! Turns out, John and Linda owned a fine dining restaurant before opening the B&B, so the great food should have been no surprise!

We spent the day touring the property again, and this time found our way to one of the three ponds that they have. This particular pond has a table and chairs nearby, and a dock type thing where you can overlook the water. The dogs followed us the whole way, and even took a swim in the pond while we watched in amusement. Later, we visited the Chateau Morrisette winery, which is nearby. It was a fun thing to do for the day.

Upon our return, we asked John and Linda to share our newly purchased bottle of wine with us. We chatted the evening away and went out to the knob to watch the sunset. On the walk back, I remarked about the fresh jalapeños and other varieties of peppers they were growing, and John and I talked about our love of spicy food. Then, I played some more piano…a lot more! By the end of the evening, we were all singing along with the tunes.

The next morning for breakfast, we were treated to mimosas on the patio – another anniversary gift. My wife chose the salmon version of Eggs Benedict, and I had a Salmon Omelet. Both were once again fantastic, and were served with a home grown, home-made concoction of hot peppers to go on our food! John went out that morning and picked peppers after remembering our conversation, and made it for us.

After packing and loading the car up, we talked the morning away with John and Linda. And then the afternoon, too! They are two very inspirational people, with quite interesting life journeys to share. They are able to adapt to any kind of personality, and I feel sure they would make anyone feel comfortable staying in their home. If you’re looking for a place to stay near Floyd, this is one of the most magical places you’ll ever find yourself. The place, the people, the atmosphere, and the whole experience is just one of a kind. Highly recommended doesn’t say it enough.

My husband and I stayed in the Loft Suite for a wedding anniversary-cum-birthday getaway over Labor Day Weekend. We were blown away by the property, the room, and the hospitality of Linda and John. We've stayed in many B&Bs but Heaven's Holler has to be the most personable, unique, relaxing, and welcoming visit we've ever had. From the breakfast menu that let us each pick from five delicious garden-grown options, to the welcome drink at the outdoor "pub", the acoustic music performed by our hosts (at our request), and the immense peacefulness and beauty of the property, we were blown away. We left John and Linda with a big smile on our faces and a feeling that all is well in this world as long as there are places like Heaven's Holler.

Heaven's Holler is by far the best Bed and Breakfast we have ever stayed at. The rooms were wonderfully decorated, clean, cozy and comfortable. The view and grounds were spectacular. John and Linda were gracious hosts who made us feel right at home. It was fantastic that they allowed us to decide what time we wanted breakfast and we were also allowed to choose what we wanted for breakfast from a menu. The food was over the top delicious and cooked to perfection. If you want an amazing get away, this is it. You can enjoy watching a multitude of birds, a walk down by the lake or quiet night on the porch watching the sun set over the mountains. We will definitely be going back next year. It is the perfect spot getaway spot for anyone wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of life.

Room Tip: Both rooms are amazing. However, the one with the walkout porch that overlooks the valley was specta...
