“Wow. Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2014

Stayed for 3 nights in a Deluxe View Room with 2 double beds. It was located in the Garden wing. We had a balcony that overlooked some peaceful gardens. Really nice.

We mainly utilized the outdoor pool (perfect temp!) and hot tub with our kids. Husband and I also enjoyed a day pass to the Spa Gardens and Aqua Thermal Suite. It was really nice to enjoy the pools but the vegetation in/around the spa needed work...dead and overgrown.

There are a ton of activities that you can pay extra for, like horseback riding, archery, falconry, etc. Our kids played a few rounds of mini-golf, utilized the game room (called "Downtime"), which is equipped with some arcade games, air hockey, pool table, and even a mini bowling alley. You can spend a small fortune on the games here!
My older daughter (15) liked the fitness center. The indoor pool is beautiful.

We are at 3 of the resort restaurants for dinner - The Jefferson (good), Casino (just ok), and Sam Snead's Tavern (very good.) We also ate the sumptuous breakfast buffet daily in the main dining room. It's excellent. Go into the Village of Hot Springs and check out Lindsay's Roost. Good little stop for less expensive food and the people are really friendly.

Our family had a wonderful time. Everyone is SO friendly. My husband and I especially enjoyed cocktails in the lobby bar listening to the classic piano music in the evenings. The pianist was so talented. My kids loved the complimentary afternoon tea in the Great Hall. The place is absolutely steeped in history and delightful. It's expensive but worth it. We will be back.

My husband and I went on our Babymoon to the Homestead and enjoyed every minute! I highly recommend doing the spa package for at least one night so you can enjoy the services, locker room, and pool! The staff throughout the resort were extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here. We stayed Sunday-Wednesday and it was nice and quiet. It would likely be more crowded on the weekends and part of our enjoyment of the spa was having it to ourselves practically! We didn't try the other activities, but we will on a return trip. Our dinner in the Main Dining Room was one of the best meals we have ever had. The Jefferson Restaurant was also very good. I would recommend bringing a few snacks and bottled water so you don't have to spend as much in Martha's Market.

Overall...just OK Outdoor is amazing; Food not as good; Cleanliness of rooms should be addressed ASAP; Heat/cool system are to loud and not work good, or it is to hot or to cold. Front desk and bellman are very friendly.

Loved our experience 2 years in a row. We look forward to a Spa service and the Homestead is 1st rate. They have anticipated the needs of their guests and have made everything to meet every need. I also love shopping in the shops of the Grand Hall.

The staff at this hotel are very friendly. The hotel grounds are wonderful. I did not get an opportunity to enjoy the amenities, being part of a wedding (which was very beautiful) that required a great deal of other obligations. This hotel has many nooks and crannies that would provide respite from a person's hectic existence.

The Homestead is so comfortable and accommodating. The atmosphere and staff is so welcoming I loved every minute there. I took two hour long horse back trail rides which were amazing. The newly renovated spa was wonderful. I highly recommend the Jefferson Grill for dinner, the food was incredible. Sam Sneads restaurant service was great but the food was not very good.

My wife and I had honeymooned at The Homestead nearly 44 years ago, and over the yeas we have returned there from time to time. Recently we visited for a good friend's son's wedding, and again we enjoyed our stay. As an aside, my mother used to say that you should take your wife to The Homestead and your mistress to The Greenbrier, so I've followed her advice. JPK

We really enjoy hearing from our guests who honeymooned at The Homestead and keep returning. We are sure you have noticed a lot of changes and improvements over the years, while many things have remained the same. We hope you come back again and again!
