“I made a small mistake in my Kingsport TN review on Carter Fold”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2012

I realized too late when I reviewed the great Marriott Conference and told you about visiting Carter Fold. I thought we drove into Kentucky but it was Virginia. So sorry folks. It is certaily worth visiting any Saturday night.

“Lovers of old time country music should visit its home in Virginia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 26, 2012

The first recordings of country music in the world were made by AP Carter and his family in Bristol, a city which straddles the border of Tennessee and Virginia. The family lived in Hilton's Virginia where they built a theater to continue the tradition and entertain future generations.

The theater is open every Saturday night with a different band each week introduced by one of the descendants of AP Carter. Regulars get up and dance or flat-foot to the music and it is great inexpensive entertainment for everyone.
